Absolutely.
I missed the Sedin hit initially and was baffled why Keith would pull that kind of crap. Once I seen the Sedin hit, I was completely satisfied.
The players have been saying for a few years now to let them settle issues on the ice.. Keith did that.
They were very different. Keith should get 5 games in my opinion. - woopstash
Not happening. 2 at most.
Not a repeat offender. Sedin hit mitigates it. Sedin might get a fine or a game as well.

totally disagree this was the perfect time for payback and the right player did it to the other player.
send a message to the other teams that the hawks wont tolerate any more of the bs
this team has been soft all year except for the last few weeks and appearantly vancouver did not get the message so keith pounded it home to the cheap shot sedin
keith maybe gets one game and it better be against a lesser opponent - molly2522
Targeting the head, and hitting that target hard with an extended elbow, is never proper retaliation: the message it sends is that it's OK to keep deliberately causing concussions and endangering players' careers. Retaliation is fine - some other way.
Doan got three games, partially because of his history (a previous suspension and a fine) but without apparent intent to injure (at least according to Shannahan).
Keith has no history but an obvious intent to injure - my guess is the same - 3 games.
I think 3 games is about right. tat kind of play is uncalled for ad is exactly the type of hit the NHL is trying to get rid of. I think the "first time offender" gets washed out because the hit "led to an injury" which is something the Shanahammer takes into consideration. the Hawks are somehow going to have to sack up some more ecause the Blue Line is getting thinner....
But what a game. As a STH, those are the kind of games that make reaffirm why you sit through the Flames and Blue Jacket and Duck games. Chippy, edgy, intense, great goaltending and tons of heart.
- Here's hoping Kruger is OK. That 10-16-25 line has been the Haws best line during this run, and while B-Mo did Yeoman's work, especially considering he hasn't played in awhile, Krugs is really on a nice arc and he's gonna be really really good player for this team. ( if Nordstrom and Rundsfelt are anything like him then this will be one hell of a pipeline.)
- I turned to my brother through the first period and said Oduya's play had been very "Winnipeggy", then I check my phone and Al C says the exact same thing. great minds think alike. Apparently, so Do mine and Al's....
- Bolland's line has really stepped up to. Shaw really has adopted his 'bay Rat" status and just run with it. And Bickell seems like a new player the past month.
- third period was y far Crawford's best period of the year. Hopefully he can run with this.
guess we wait for the Shanahammer and get ready for a very very big game with the Preds. I now it's a long shot, but if Detroit continues this slide and that last game they need to stay in the playoffs...........

I find it hilarious that Vancouver fans are complaining that Keith didnt fight after his hit on the Sedin sister. I guess they have forgotten about players who have made a career of that on their team like Burrows, Lapierre and Kesler.
Pot meet kettle ... kettle meet pot.
I would give Keith 3 games and Sedin sister 1 game. The Keith hit was worse and definetely deserves a suspension but so does the Sedin sister hit.

With last nite's win, the Hawks have more than made up all of the ground lost to the 9 game losing streak: 16 above .500 when the streak started, 17 above now.

I said at the beginning of the season when other players were getting suspended for head shots that it would happen to one of the Hawks at some point and it looks like Keith will get something here probably in the 2-3 game range. I think we all have to understand that we can't complain about all the head shots and call for suspensions for players on other teams and then try to justify it when a player on one of our teams does it. Maybe the NHL should take a look at eliminating the instigator rule so the players can hold each other accountable and police themselves. There are too many players running around that never have to answer the bell for their actions. If Keith thought Sedins hit on him in the first period was questionable the thing to do would be to drop 'em and settle it and then the whole thing is over with. Keith doesn't get a suspension and Sedin doesn't get hurt.
One positive for the Hawks if Keith does get suspended is that the guy could probably use the break before the playoffs to get some rest with all the minutes he plays per game. - jhawk159
Totally agree with your reasoning, on the surface.
But here we are talking about a complete d0uchebag in that angry fish sweater. He wouldn't drop the mitts in a hundred years. Anyone need proof:
Face shield on, and this little punk (I'd take him any day over either #22 or #33 in the angry fish sweater) just b!tch-punches him a half-dozen times with zero retaliation.
