It was a bad hit, but at first it was a bad hit and I was kinda embarrassed for Dunc. I didnt like the fact he threw a hit like that. And now although I still think it was wrong and dirty at least, as a man, I understand why he was pissed. I'd be pissed also.

Biggest thing is they now won 5 straight and are battling for the 4 spot. All without their best player.

My one comment here. Burrows has 54 Career fights. 15 in one season. He fought Tootoo the following game after a questionable hit on dumont.

He's fought Carcillo, Barnaby, godard, Parros to name a few in his career.

He's an amazing hockey player and you need to get over your hate for him, it's pretty pathetic.

He's also an amazing hair puller, an amazing finger biter and does a really amazing knee to the balls. He may be a good hockey player, but he's a piece of garbage and I have no respect for him and I doubt a lot of NHL players have any respect for him either.

If he had tried to fight sedin like that pen fan suggested, then sedin would just turtle or hide behind the refs, and that type of bullsh*t would just continue. I don't like the headshots one bit and keiths was dirty, but if your going to be throwing head shots around like sedin did, then don't be surprised if it one day it comes back to you. For Sedin, it was the next period.

If the estimated 3 games ia all that Keith gets and Danielle Sedin is out for the year thats a great trade. The Sedins are hall of fame floppers , its great someone fimally connected with one of their jaws square , Danny girl sure was ok enough to go right back on the ice for theensuing power play. The Canucks have the 2ns seed sewn up, no reason for Danielle to play the rest of the game. Im sure he is fine.

these type of players hurt the whole team. skilled players dont like the bs and dont want to be associated with a team that has players that do it. it shows lack of leadership on the team

My point was they were all saying Keith should've maned up for his action. But burrows one of the most hated players in the NHL has dropped the gloves 4 times since 08. If he does not have to speak for his actions then why in the hell should Keith. And at that time I didnt even know about Danielle's little shot on Kieth.

I agree, don't condone what Keith did at all.

But there is some history here and maybe the Hawks have gotten tired of being on the receiving end of things. The Sharks on Toews, Engelland hitting Kruger, Torres a couple of times last year on Seabrook, Bieksa on Stalberg etc, etc.

Keith should have definitely chosen a different, less obvious tactic. But I don't have any problem with stepping up and drawing the line on what physical abuse
the team is going to take, especially from the Canucks.

Hawks continue to roll with out Toews: Crawford was excellent...Hossa, Kane, Sharp superb. Shaw continues to amaze with his nose for the net.

And most of the talk is about the poor Daniel and the biggest cheap shot team in the league and a penguin trolls no less!

Tit for tat.
Live by the sword, die by the sword.
What goes around comes around.
You reap what you sow.
Payack's a beotch.
You made your bed, now lie in it.
They pull a knife, you pull a gun.
They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue.

Did I miss any?

Sorry guys but that was a pretty classless hit from a guy that I really liked. Uncalled for and hope he gets the book thrown at him.

Entertaining game aside from that. Good win for you guys.

What Keith did was stupid, wreckless and he will be suspended for it. I believe he'll get 6 games. It was blatant, targeted the head and the player was injured. Those points are not debatable.

What I have a problem with is not Keith seeking retribution, it's how he did it. In responding to Sedin's headshot on him, I believe it showed some selfishness on the part of a player who isn't really known for that. He put retribution ahead of his team which, especially with only 7 games until the playoffs, needs him the most of any time of the season.

While I agree retribution was warranted, the way Keith went about it was very disappointing. Do I want to see the Hawks get pushed around? Absolutely not. A physical response is expected and warranted from a team with the competitiveness that the Hawks have. Do I want them to turn into the cheap shot goons of the NHL? I'd rather never see them win another Cup.

Now again, don't misunderstand me: I don't think what Keith did was anywhere near the level of Brad Marchand or Matt Cooke goonery. The point I'm making is that it was a stupid and selfish way to seek retribution on Daniel Sedin, especially considering the time of year, how his team is playing and how he himself is contributing to the resurgence of the "elite" version of the 2012 Blackhawks.

Really? DK has a suspendable hit but he's far from that. He's not a choir boy but he's far, far from a felon like Bertuzzi.

Alexis just completed the hat-trick of puss; adding nut-kneeing to finger-biting and hair-pulling. For a guy who's supposed to be a star player, he sure doesn't project that well. All that talent, too much Summer's Eve.

Bieksa, who likes to mix it up with guys that do not fight yet runs away from guys who'd drop 'em. Big guy, try to like him but he doesn't answer the bell nearly enough.

And finally the twins who do all those little things to get the ire of the opposition then go palms-up as to why they were hit.

I'm amazed Lapierre wasn't his normal self. Must have had an off-night. Gotta look at the replay, maybe Bollig was on the ice once or twice when he was out there.

Consider the nux lucky. Cuz if Bollig got a hold of any one of them - pick one, anyone - he'd have punched them senseless.

Love watching how AV and some players whine about stuff when their team is the dirtiest team in the league, bar none.

totally disagree this was the perfect time for payback and the right player did it to the other player.
send a message to the other teams that the hawks wont tolerate any more of the bs
this team has been soft all year except for the last few weeks and appearantly vancouver did not get the message so keith pounded it home to the cheap shot sedin
keith maybe gets one game and it better be against a lesser opponent

54 Career Fights?

Even if that number is true, his 2 most memorable fights are 'Pulling Keith's hair' and 'Biting Beregeron's finger'!

You must be proud of him...

I am not sure on this. The CHL/AHL eligibility rules are fairly clear. I defer to someone who follows this more closely. . .
- John Jaeckel

I looked it up and posted this in a thread a few days back.

If a player played in junior before they were drafted by the NHL, then they have to either be 20 years old by Dec. 31 or have played four years of junior in order to play in the minors.

- EKolb13

McNeill doesn't turn 20 until Febuary 22nd of next year. Danault doesn't turn 20 until Febuary 24th of next year. If I'm reading this right, they'll both be back in the CHL next season.

Brandon Saad turns 20 sometime in October of this year. If I'm reading this right, he could play in the AHL next season.

Also, Simpson, Carruth, and Matteson all have turned 20. I wonder if one of those three could be playing in the minors next season?

I said at the beginning of the season when other players were getting suspended for head shots that it would happen to one of the Hawks at some point and it looks like Keith will get something here probably in the 2-3 game range. I think we all have to understand that we can't complain about all the head shots and call for suspensions for players on other teams and then try to justify it when a player on one of our teams does it. Maybe the NHL should take a look at eliminating the instigator rule so the players can hold each other accountable and police themselves. There are too many players running around that never have to answer the bell for their actions. If Keith thought Sedins hit on him in the first period was questionable the thing to do would be to drop 'em and settle it and then the whole thing is over with. Keith doesn't get a suspension and Sedin doesn't get hurt.

One positive for the Hawks if Keith does get suspended is that the guy could probably use the break before the playoffs to get some rest with all the minutes he plays per game.
