We do have good pieces, just in the wrong places.

Bozak keeps getting better, I used to think #3 center but he has flashes where you think he could be #2 easily.

Kulemin is a tough one, but he is useful because he wins a lot of battles out there. Just can't finish. He would be great on a line with 2 great scorers and his main job is to just get them the puck. Otherwise, he is easily acceptable as a third liner.

MacArthur is gritty enough to be a third liner and his offense would be welcomed there.

You can make an argument for most of the guys. Problem is Burke wants to push them up to a spot beyond their capabilities. Might be fine for a short stretch, but long term and in the playoffs forget about it.

The coach decides where they line up. They are in those positions because we have no one else to go there.

Hes been on his own for the last 3 days, Since hes the only Leaf fan on here not calling for Tank Nation.
- Leafsfan9329

I'll never call for ''Tank Nation''. What a mockery. What an absolute joke.

You guys call yourselves fans? Wanting a team to lose is as pathetic as it gets.

A double Dion.

Terrible turnover and lazy back check.

- leafs_wingp

Never got why he tried to play the puck (in an incredibly lazy way) instead of the man on that play..

Well yesterday, I wanted us to trade him while he has some good value. I still believe that.

If you only have one elite asset on your team, it should not be a small, soft, one-dimensional sniper with zero leadership inclination.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great piece to a puzzle, but not for the state the Leafs are in; not now.

- GoneFullRetard

He is still too young to give up on though. This team could go into a 5 year rebuild right now and he will still be in his prime easily by then.

Also, with how he gets ripped up to shreds even though he sits near the top of the league in scoring there is no way we'll ever get full value in return and maybe it is a blessing because he might be able to get re-signed at a good cap hit. He is a good hit right now for what he is producing.

They'll win. Phaneuf had a closed doors meeting last night with the guys.

Players usually come out strong after those.

Thanks I now know they will lose.

Look at the rest of the Leafs skating back. It was Eller vs. 5 Leafs. All of them didn't give a (frank). None were skating.

They should have had their asses grassed for that lazy poop. On Sundin night to boot. Embarrassing.

Guess what Tank nation is more possible than actually making the playoffs. They have been outscored 13-2.

Call it whatever you want, but if the Leafs don't end up with a lottery pick the season is a complete (frank)ing disaster and the chances of the team getting better anytime soon are up in smoke.

Winning any of these remaining games is pointless, unless of course you're a season ticket holder... well then I see your argument.

This is what I don't understand. If he is an elite player (like you said) why do they need to trade him?? They need to add to the roster with more elite and quality players. He has plenty of hockey still in him so he's not going anywhere. No one should expect Kessel to be the leader and carry this team on his back all on his own.

You're basing the outcome of the season on two games.

What flood gates?

I'm defending my opinion. No, I don't think the Leafs are as bad as some have said. People are acting like they are the absolute worst team in NHL history.

Yet none of these trolls will admit that the Leafs actually do have good pieces in place.

- thomas81

4 wins and 16 losses in their last 20 games

this brutal collapse could very easily make an argument that this is indeed one of the worst teams ever

good pieces sure.. not core pieces tho.. closest thing we have to it might be a complementary sniper in kessel, and an inconsistant d-man in phaneuf.

i'd even go so far as to say that grabovski is the only real core piece worth keeping right now.

I think people stealing a little girl's bike from the back yard is pretty pathetic. Even more so than hoping your team has a proper rebuild.

That's what I'm saying, I was replying to a previous post.

We have good pieces just playing in the wrong spots.

We get more pieces then these guys go into the right spots.

Goaltending is the key.
Montreal could easily turn it around if Price gets hot and they get a legit scorer.

- Fakepartofme

Completely agree a goaltender is the one position that can carry a team to the playoffs or even a cup. Look at NY and even buffalo at times I don't see those teams as light years ahead of the leafs they just have great goaltending. I guess you could say legit number 1 centers as well. Two glaring needs for the leafs.

He's not a #1 goalie.

Not yet anyway.

- Pecafan Fan

Ok. Let me get this straight with you. It'll be the last time I explain this to you...

He's OUR NUMBER ONE GOALTENDER. The fact that he's elite or not is irrelevant. He probably never will be.

He needs to be consistant. We saw last year that he could. Giving up on a goalie based on a bad year is wrong.

Nobody wants to see their team lose, but if you're not going to make the playoffs then you might as well get the best pick possible rather than finishing 9th and picking a 3rd line player...
