Debatable. Price would probably match Luongo's numbers indeed.
But Halak and Rinne have proven to be able to steal a lot of consecutive games by themselves, something Price has failed to do yet. - Jayden

If Holzer pans out, I really think he is a guy that should play with Phaneuf. A rock solid stay at home type. Phaneuf can do whatever he wants basically.
I think Gardiner / Schenn are a great future and they should play together a lot.
Why does it seem that Franson is always the odd man out? I thought he was decent for the times he did play. More preferably than Komi although you can't argue Komi's effort lately. - leafs93
I see Franson as a big piece next season. Schenn will come back strong next season. He's just that kind of proud athlete.
Komi has been better since RC got here although that isn't saying much. I would trade him in the summer. Get a decent draft pick and play the younger guys. |

Because the rest of the Habs are terrible, terrible. Like really horrible.
I could put up a 2.00GAA in Hitchcock's system. Halak and Eliott's numbers are meaningless to me.
Remember how good Roman Chechmanic's numbers were in Philly under Hitchcock? No? Go look them up. |

Let me repeat it one more time for you:
The Hamilton Bulldogs won the Cup not long ago. Are the habs any better for it?
No.
Let's look at the top 3 scorers of the Marlies:
Mike Zigomanis, 31 years old, Career AHLer, 40 pts in almost 200 NHL games.
Ryan Hamilton, 27 years old, Career AHLer, 0 NHL games
Marcel Mueller, 24 years old, 3 NHL games, 0 points

Price is not elite. Miller is on the decline. Thomas isn't getting any younger. His game hasn't been really good in the last few weeks. - thomas81
I disagree, Price is elite. Miller's "decline" minus the concussion period stlil puts him top 3 in the league for the next few years. Thomas is getting old I'll give you that, but Bruins have injuries finally so teams are getting better chances against Thomas now. Either way, guess they'll have to settle with Rask... schucks for them. |

Show me your so called experts. Leafs are pretty high on every list I've seen. Huddle is as good as it gets for CHL evaluation. - thomas81
pick up the latest edition of THN future watch. Montreal has 5 in the top 50, Toronto has 2. 1 being Ashton who they just acquired.
Gardiner is not considered a prospect on thier list. |

Reality?
Most of you are just saying. They suck, they all suck. The Leafs have nothing... Kessel isn't capable of scoring. Lupul is trash.
Anything associated with the Leafs just suck. I get it. Now please, just get out. |

Ya but Colborne who is 4th has 5pts in 10 nhl games... bring that over 82 games and thats 41pts! pretty good for a rookie |

No one said Kessel or Lupul sucks. They're saying you don't have a starting goalie or a #1 dman. Don't feel bad. Edmonton also sucks in that department. |

I think we are stuck with Komi, he can't be sent down and unless a team like NYI needs to reach cap floor he is a Leaf whether in the lineup or in the pressbox. His cap hit is a factor.
With that being said, guys like Lombardi, Connolly and Armstrong that carry a large cap hit, I wouldn't be surprised to see them moved or put in the minors since none of them have a NMC. This frees up all sorts of cap space.
With that space we need drastic UFA signings because nobody is going to give us a Getzlaf without gutting our best prospects. We need to aggressively go after Parise and either Suter/Weber if they hit UFA.
Yes we'll be overloaded with dmen but we will have big time value there.
Forget trading for big pieces like Nash, it will be counterproductive.
The only trade I think we have to do is for a #1 goalie because I don't see many of them hitting UFA anytime soon and we are desperate for one.

Have you seen the kind of contracts that have been given out to defenseman similar to Komisarek?
Orpik, Gleason, Gorges, Tyutin... the list goes on and on.
Point is, those defenseman are valuable.
But you wouldn't admit that since you're still in pain over him leaving your precious little organization. |

I don't watch numbers, sir. I watch goalies playing and I can see them winning games by themselves when they do. Price had a great year when the Habs finished 1st in the conference and that's it.
If Price starts stealing games like these guys do, and I believe he still has the potential, then we will say he is top 5.

Ok...
The fact you put Orpik in the same category as Komisarek pretty much tells me it is meaningless to keep this discussion going.
Case closed. |

No one is just spewing hate here on the Leafs.
Kessel has been one of the most consistent forwards in the NHL this year and is in the top 5 in scoring.
He made Lupul what Lupul is this year... all without a legit #1 centre.
Grabovski, while overpaid, was paid fair market value. Look at the centre ice UFA's this off season. Grabovski is far and away the best. (He's totally underrated as a defensive forward. Up there with Kesler and Bergeron... seriously. No, I'm not mental)
Gardiner is a great skater with good vision... but should be with the Marlies. Frattin and Ashton care and try hard.
Tell me the other positives the Leafs have, other than hoping that D'Amigo, Kadri, Colborne, Ross, McKegg, Blacker and their 1st rounder this year have something click and become better than 2nd or 3rd liners in the NHL.
