I thought when they gave these time frames it was in relation to his expected time to return, not how long he will be unable to do activity... I agree if a doctor told me 6-8 weeks it would be 6-8 weeks healing time, but when sport teams say he will be out 6-8 weeks, doesnt that usually include the recovery time?
- RooNosHockey

That doesn't mean he'll be ready to play in a game in 6-8 weeks, let alone a playoff game. It means he'll be ready to participate in physical and Hockey activiites such as skating, or practicing. From then he needs to get back in game shape.

His contract is a non-issue if there's a bonus cushion. Which will hopefully reappear for next season.
- bradleyc4

I don't have a problem with him. just assuming that is the issue the person who posted it has

After some thought, I think I understizzle. Let's hope he continues to sizzle.

Bill, is confidence really his turn around? Or is it lavy not going crazy with the offense? I loved the fact he was weak in the shootout and then came back the next afternoon and was tall and strong in that game. Didn't hang his head. Didn't look worried. Looked like an elite goalie.

Does Brayden Schenn's contract bother anyone else?
- Shephardbd

It doesn't bother me. Why does it bother you?

briere has obviously had a down year but he has earned his paycheck every playoffs
- nastyflyergirl

That's an exaggeration. If it's the case lets LTIR him for the season and throw him out there for the playoffs.

Of course they should have! No one questions that! Homer went out and got Pronger that offseason because of this. Still, why help wake the Pens up? You have them beaten and listless...don't do anything to possibly change that.
- pyromantic

They had the Pens litless and beaten. So Carcillo continuing to beat them in a fight changed that they had them listless and beaten?

I won't kill a guy for a down season when he has come thru in the playoffs every year and has played well in the past.

Thats fine... but like i said.. i dont care how inflated another team gets.. you shouldnt blow a 3 goal lead. That wasnt on Carcillo. I have defended him on that since that day..
- jak521

I don't blame him for that loss, but I do blame him for greasing the skids. I think that was mindbogglingly dumb to beat the smaller guy to a bloody pulp in that situation. He created a martyr, not a loser.

You are entitled to your opinion, and thats mine.

he's been underwhelming for the amount of money paid. Also he's a liability defensively. I'd rather have that cap hit spent on other things than a guy who plays two months a year.

Confidence is part of it for sure, but the team has also made some defensive adjustments and Bryzgalov is cutting down the angles better.

he's tracking the puck exceptionally well from stick-to-stick. he knows where the puck is at all times and is in position to make a lot of saves before the shot is even released.

Yup. The Flyers are going to have to move on without Mez. He is pretty much done for the year.

He has shown signs of picking it up lately too. I'm still confident that after he gets one against a live goalie it'll be floodgates...but I wish he'd get it soon. Maybe tonight will be his night. I'm calling it now. Multi point game, including a goal, from the mighty mite! Monkey Joe's Mighty Mite Lead Pipe Lock.

I was very happy having him on the team the last few yrs, esp in the playoffs so I am very willing to see how this season plays out

I remember Roenick, Primeau, Fedoruk were all out of the lineup that night.. I was pissed when Chara took Timmander.. and Philips went after I think Somik or someone. Fisher dropped Zus right on his head...

That was a hell of a fun team..

- jak521

I remember Hitch sending out Leclair to fight and Leclair rolling his eyes at the command.

And he's playing more. I really think he's the kind of goalie that needs a heavier workload than they were giving him earlier in the season.
