I'd prefer going back to a league of 4 divisions, 2 conferences. Top 4 from each division make the playoffs, with divisional seeding. 1 v 4, 2 v 3, then reseed. Divisional playoff winners meet in the Conference Final. Conference Final winners meet in the Stanley Cup Final.

I do not like this. Again, the Atlantic is stacked... How is it fair the top 4 teams in the east have to play eachother in the first 2 rounds while the bottom 4 get to battle each other.... Just not a fair representation of the best teams making the finals... It becomes the luckiest teams...

I find it amusing and quite interesting how all other blogs have anywhere from 10 to 20 people on talking hockey on HB, however, Philly always has like 300 to 1200 posts a day. Just goes to show, we are the best

Lots of good hockey talk in here. Even when I don't post I like to read Bill's blogs and the comments in here. Although it was alot more entertaining when Bryz was struggling.

The whole point in getting points in a regular season is to put yourself in a better position to win.

Example... If Flyers and Penguins have to play in round 1 instead of meeting in round 3... The winner of the series could be so worn out, injuried ect that the next team that would have been a lower seed and managed to win could have an "easier" change to beat the better team... Thus you have nullified the advantage of the "better" team by making them play a tougher team in the first round....

No there is a big difference... Now you have the 2 seed vs 3 seed in the conference finals... Meaning 1 of the 2 are in the SCFs....

Instead of having a 2 or 3 seed vs a 6 or 7 seed that played a weak 2 or 3 seed and the winnger going to the SCF...

The capitals? No the capitals were one of the better teams in the conference. The capitals could be put in any of the other divisions and be competitive the other teams not so sure. The capitals haven't as far as I know have never benefitted from this lame automatic high seeding going to a division winner. They are either on point or not the rule wouldn't affect them.
