Fact- Every fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins started watching hockey in 2006. But you already knew that...

Girardi seems like a good guy too. The home life with his kid and wife did make him seem normal. No complaint with him.

Dubinsky is such a tool. I liked him comments on Crosby a couple years back and I thought he might be likeable back then but it just seems like he has something against everyone, while at the same time believing he actually wears cool hair styles.

Lost in the fact of the Flyers' dismal record against the Rangers this season is that, if they executed better in third periods, the season series could just as easily be 3-2 in Philly's favor.

sticks in my craw that if the flyers had won even ONE game against them they'd be tops in the east right now

Thier reward is a banner for winning the division... IMO the teams with the best records should be rewarded. I dont care if you win a crappy division... If your points say you are the 7th seed... then you should be the 7th seed...
- RooNosHockey

Getting a banner isn't a legitimate reward. If you win your division, you deserve a top seed.

Girardi isn't a dirty player though. There are 2 sides to a hockey play, on ice and off ice. If I don't like one of them, I don't like that player.

Who Cooke? No way man, he has more points than penalty minutes. You must be thinking of Orpik. It's cool though, mistakes happen.

I'm on the fence about this. Last I check the second worst team (The Devils) in the Atlantic Division was better then both the Bruins and Panthers, who are both leader their divisions. So while I agree with you, it's hard for me to argue with people who don't agree with these 2 teams (Bruins and Panthers) getting a top seed.

There absolutely should be a reward for winning the Division. It's the same in in every major sport.
- MJL

I don't believe it applies to the NBA. Sixers lead their division but are 4th in the conference.

Yup and a team like florida gets rewarded with home ice while the flyers may get a road series to start the playoffs

Tough noogies. If you want home-ice, you win your division. Look at baseball. If you don't win your division, you are placed into a 1-game playoff against the other division-loser that eeked into the playoffs. In the NHL, you have plenty of chances to play your division and control your destiny (24 games).

I love the ugliness between the 2 teams but the Pens seem to get away with a lot, even with Matt Cooke on their team. There is just no way he should have gotten away with that Savard hit and what's even more of a joke that it was compared to Richards on Booth as an excuse. In my opinion the Flyers and Pens bring out the very best in one another. Win or Lose, if they faced one another in the first round, it will be fun to watch.

I know I'm probably really leight, however f Kunitz. Hartnell has done some crappy things to people too. OK, little extra wash on the bottom. Fine. Plain disrespect for linesmen, should not be tolerated. I agree that the game should not be decided on a powerplay. Should have at least tossed him out.
Leave Crosby alone. NBC may be the worst of all the commentators. I just cringe when I see a 12:30 or 3:00 game. I get Crosby is a superstar. But we have this guy Giroux, not too shabby.
Malkin is a jackass. When he first came into the league, I really liked him. I thought he could be Pitts difference maker. Now he just irks me. His goal was nice, but he is a diver and a little female dog. He pretended to get slashed on the hand and skated around holding his wrist. However, when the puck got to him, he started stick handling like crazy. Screw that guy. Screw the Penguins. Glad Crosby is ok, don't want to see a young kid that injured. But I'm overjoyed at being able to hate on him again. So, screw Crosby and his little female dog side kick Malkin. And furthermore, Letang and Kunitz can go butt-frank each other at the Blue Oyster.

the game most certainly should be allowed to be decided on a powerplay

if someone breaks the rules at any time it must be called

It really doesn't matter to me. Whether we play the Pens in the first round or the third, we're still most likely to take on a tough team depending on our success in the playoffs. When would you like to face the Rangers?

Yes, it should be called. But there is a lot of hitting pushing and whatnot after whistles that could be called. I guess I should have specified games that good shouldn't be decided by a pp on a weak call.

it was Michalek. his agent was griping on twitter that it was a ridiculous penalty and the NHL needs better refs. quite amusing to pick that one play out of yesterday's game as evidence that they need better refs.

I'm sorry I beg to differ. Roo is right, just because you won a divsion shouldn't automatically seed you higher than anyone. The panthers are more than 10 pts behind teams seeded lower and imo is wrong. It's like teams wining a bad division in football with 7-9 records getting into the playoffs over teams with winning records in good divisions. IT's a stupid practice and needs to stop. YOu won your poop division good here's a banner. Otherwise if you suck like the panthers do, then they should be wherever their point total puts them. IT makes it even worse that they play in a crap division and have fewer points than the Flyers, Pens, Devilas and Senators.

yes but then those teams would never be in the playoffs and continue to have no money and be bigger jokes of the NHL
