This is why they shouldnt give division leaders a guarenteed 1-2-3... And why they shouldnt do round 1 and round 2 conference battles in the playoffs....

Right now it should be:

Rangers- Caps
Penguins- Ottawa
Flyers- Florida
Devils- Boston

Not

Rangers-Caps
Boston- Ottawa
Florida- Devils
Penguins-Flyers

- RooNosHockey

I'm fine with divisional leaders. I'd rather they make all games worth the same two points.

In one week we went from getting Manning, to Flynn and now Alex franking Smith looks like he's the guy. Alex Smith on the Dolphins will be a far cry from the 49'ers version. We don't have their defense or coach.

Stop whining.

We reap what we sow my friend. Hartnell may be your leading goal scorer, but he's earned that kind of treatment over his career with all the crap he's pulled over the years. The ref's simply aren't going to protect Hartnell the way they would a Giroux or Crosby. I guarantee if Kunitz had done that to Giroux, the response would have been different, and I have no issue with that.

- Emperor Filonius

Since when do the refs protect Giroux??

There absolutely should be a reward for winning the Division. It's the same in in every major sport.
- MJL

Thier reward is a banner for winning the division... IMO the teams with the best records should be rewarded. I dont care if you win a crappy division... If your points say you are the 7th seed... then you should be the 7th seed...

explain the MLB AL central then?
every team in the east would take all the playoffs spots then

it goes both ways. the way you would have it, a team could win a brutally tough division but be seeded lower than a 2nd place team from an extremely weak division.

Was at this game in a club box, by the way- wow.....

The box was teeming with Penguins fans. It was disgusting the way they thought of themselves as all high and mighty- even when they're in Philly. Just the air that they walk around with- their chins are held higher than everyone else's. They think they're so great. Very condescending.

My main problem with Penguins fans is they seem to forget (or in the bandwagoners' cases, don't know) that they're success as a franchise is a direct result of them being a tanking piece of poop organization that was the laughing stock of the NHL for 10 years so they could stock the cupboard with top 3 pick talent year after year.

I'd much rather do things like the Flyers do- field a playoff team every year- than watch them suck for 7-10 and then win 2 cups 5 years after their reign of suck is over.

My thanks go out to Mr. Ed Snider for that.

What a game, and keep it rolling boys!

Go Flyers!

we are not talking about baseball though... Let baseball do what baseball does... I'm talking about hockey... And what would be worse is if the purposed playoff format the league has after re-alignment... For example this year you would have 5 teams in contention for playoffs cut down to 4. even before the playoffs... Then you have the 4 top teams in the east and they have to play eachother while the other east conference would have an easy walk to the Conference finals....

As fans we would all be better people if that were true. South Florida needs the chosen one to return. He just needs to learn how to throw a franking football.

Still have at least another year before we have to worry about the possibility of realignment.

I disliked Dubinsky, Avery and Rupp before 24/7. But Boyle, Callahan, Girardi, Lundqvist, Del Zotto and even Prust I came away liking. They were down to earth guys.
- Jsaquella

Girardi seems like a good guy too. The home life with his kid and wife did make him seem normal. No complaint with him.

Dubinsky is such a tool. I liked him comments on Crosby a couple years back and I thought he might be likeable back then but it just seems like he has something against everyone, while at the same time believing he actually wears cool hair styles.
