Who cares if rolston had 4 point night. Tor forgot to play a goalie vs Boston. It was a blow out. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut. Rolston was still he of worst players to wear the isles jersey all time. Good riddance. If Boston thinks he will hep them. Trust me. They not going anywhere.

U guy left a guy off as coach the would be perfect for isles. Larry Robinson. He is respected. Thinks defense He would whip these kids up nicely.

Carbeneau would also be good.

your nuts...the on ice product will improve when we have a team of nhl players on the ice...jesus couldn't coach eaton staois mottau jurcina into the playoffs..
- NYI78

True, but its more than that. This team is not one problem away from being good. Its not a situation of "either get better players OR get a new coach and the team will be good". BOTH THINGS HAVE TO HAPPEN, along with other things before this team is competitive on the ice. They need better players AND a new coach. They also need the idiot owner to stay out of hockey-related decisions and to have a GM that can sell LI to UFA's. They also need a new building and, more importantly, a long-term committment to SOME geographical area so that potential FA's know what they're getting into.

you have to point the finger at snow and wang....those players you mentioned are not cpaable at competing at the nhl level.....that isn't the coaches fault its the (frank)ing owners and gm's fault for assembling this group of bleeding vaginas
- NYI78

yeah...absolve the coach...makes perfect sense...

Well, it is Wang's fault for hiring him in the first place, I guess.

right cause cappy would make lunquist suck???
- NYI78

No more than Cappy "makes Tavares suck." Very good players are very good players, of course. Doesn't change what a coach means to the team. Just on the simplest level...having a faceoff specialist that can't do anything else in the game of hockey except win draws...and then using him in almost every situation except taking key faceoffs. Is that on the players too? Never having the right match-ups on the ice...players' fault? More often than not, the Islanders look flat out clueless and disorganized, and the expressions on Cappy's face seem to match that. Guy never changes lines up except to move Okposo on or off the first line once in a while. He played Rolston on the second line/first pp unit for how long when even fans' wives that aren't into hockey could see it wasn't working?

Give us the best coach in the game today and I don't think we're in first or fourth or fifth or even sixth. But I'd say we'd at least be sitting 11th with 74 points in the standings and an outside chance to make it in...at least a spec of hope. Is coaching the weakness on this team? No. But it's certainly not a strength, and it's one of the few areas maybe they can actually do something about. You say it all the time, 78...we're not getting a new owner and we're not getting a new GM. If we at least had a coach who knew how to steer the ship, maybe that would at least be a little something.

Billy has lived on the North Shore for decades... he grew up in Hicksville... But he lived in Lloyd's Neck for a real long time... He also had the albums "Cold Spring Harbor" & "Glass Houses" from his time living in both on the North Shore.

Yes I know. I went to HS in Hicksville. All the Village Green stuff and all. BTW The Village Greens were in Levittown.

Well then. As for the rest. I stand corrected!

Now this all makes perfect sense.

This PR marketing campaign is absolutely genius.

Cant wait to see what's coming next!!!

Thought he was from oyster bay? Either way his music sucks (minus 2,3 songs). Also, when the isles asked him to endorse the team publicly before the August vote he refused.........screw him, he's irrelevant.

Ill beg to differ on his music sucking, but again.. MSG doesnt care what the fans of this team want/like. Its THEIR ad campaign.
