The Pathetic Islanders?

The song Piano Man? By Billy Joel? From Hicksville LI?

The North Shore?

Am I missing something Here? None of this makes any sense.

But just one more thing.

THE PO PUSH STARTS TOMORROW! JUST IN CASE U FORGOT!

- SCLI

Billy has lived on the North Shore for decades... he grew up in Hicksville... But he lived in Lloyd's Neck for a real long time... He also had the albums "Cold Spring Harbor" & "Glass Houses" from his time living in both on the North Shore.

Not immediately after the rant but yea, he definitely turned things around. Took us from last to a stanley cup in 3 years and got fired midway through the season when we won it. Feel bad for him actually, he's a good coach but I think his message grows stale after a while. I do think he would be a good coach for this team, at least for a few years before Tavares gets sick of getting yelled at.

Anyone catch Rolston's 4 points tonight?

I would venture a guess that not enough people know that to make this a good marketing idea.

Problem is the people here are looking at it as another mistake by the Islanders.. This is all MSG that put these things out... They have done them for ALL the teams they carry.

Imagine what a guy like Reasoner can do for the Bruins? Regardless with Rolston the Bruins have to be favorites for the cup again.

The Leafs were in net. The biggest problem is they were at forward, defense and coach too.

I can't believe I actually read (multiple times) that a coach doesn't make a team.

I like Cappy as a person (well he seems like a nice guy) but he is just not a very good NHL coach. I think he is a perfect coach for the early development of young players (AHL) but he seems to be overmatched at the NHL level.

Too many players regressed or didn't even show up this season (Grabner, Bailey, Okposo, Niederreiter, Rolston, Reasoner, Jurcina).

Tavares and Hamonic are the only two that I can honestly say have progressed.

A-Mac and Moulson continue to be bright spots. Parenteau's success has much to do with JT, just like KO puts up a point here or there playing with JT. Martin is a good energy guy who will stick up for his teammates but unfortunately it's not at the game-changer level yet.

Most of this team's wins were due to the top line or from solid goaltending. I don't think any of us have ever said this year "wow Cappy's move tonight paid off".

This team hasn't been ready to play at least 10 games this season where a 1st period hole was too deep to dig out of. The blown 3rd period leads are sickening. How many times have we seen Capuano call a timeout to settle the team down, change a goalie just to shake up the team, or even mix up a line before 2 minutes are left? Once?

I won't even get into pulling the goalie with 3+ minutes left. If that's not showing any confidence in your team that they can succeed at even strength, I don't know what isn't then I guess.

I still remember a few years back at MSG where Nolan had the Isles ice the puck 4 or 5 straight times just to take the crowd out of the game. I believe it worked too.

I want to see Cappy "coach" this team during a game and until I do, I want to see someone else here who can. The players play when they win, I have yet to see them coached to victory.

I think this is a very good post. I think pulling the goalie down two goals with three minutes left is no big deal. But everything else is accurate

Thought he was from oyster bay? Either way his music sucks (minus 2,3 songs). Also, when the isles asked him to endorse the team publicly before the August vote he refused.........screw him, he's irrelevant.

I think this is 100% false. Tell me why the Ottawa senators or Winnipeg jets are better then the isles? On paper it's not a 20 point difference like the standings say with Ottawa. It's because the isles are never prepared to play. There is no reason why we shouldnt be at least fighting for that 8 th spot.
- Isles316

ohh i don't know...maybe becuase ottawa has a poop more talent on their team?? RIGHT NOW WITH THIS AHL DEFENSE IT DOESN"T MATTER...i'll care about getting a NHl coach when we have 22 nhl players..not this collection of misfit and cast offs
