Other than the top 4 teams, which I consider Pittsburgh, the Rangers, Boston, and Philadelphia, the East blows. Whoever gets the 8th spot is going to back into it rather than rise up and take it. All of Buffalo, Winnipeg, and Washington have left way too many points on the table.

Then again...we could have ourselves a 2010 situation, where both Montreal and Philadelphia back into the playoffs, and then inexplicably figure out a way to be the last 2 teams standing in the conference.

Maybe Ruff needs to get injured again.

Anyone else hoping Stamkos scores 6 goals tonight? I for one have no desire to see this Sabre team rewarded with a playoff birth by playing less poopty than Washington and Winnepeg. If they miss the playoffs, there's a slight chance Lindy Ruff may have to answer for 14 years of nothing.

i think another early 1st round exit would show more.

Either... Ruff didn't make it to the playoffs because of injuries but showed a valiant effort at the end to almost make it back from 10 points down.

OR...

Ruff's team overcame injuries and made the playoffs with the "old core" but AGAIN got bounced in the 1st round for the 3rd time in 3 years.

I think option B sounds worse. Boston, Philly, and Pitt/Rags

TB has Roloson in net now permanetly because Garon is down.

If Miller Allows 2 goals or less we will win.

Buffalo usually shells Roloson when we play him if I remember correctly.

No. Would rather they back in and we get a few mores games. Ruff won't have to answer to anything as long as Pegula owns the team.

Unless we play Boston and get thrashed, I don't think it stands a chance. But I don't think we could afford to get embarrassed by the B's AGAIN and not have a head or two roll for it.

I agree. The problem is that unless we get totally wrecked the way that Boston is capable of doing, I think we would chalk up a lost series against any of the other teams as "good enough" to not fire anyone. Then we'll sign whatever bum scores the game winner against us for a king's ransom and do it all over again next year. I think a series against Philly, Pitt, or NY would be one where we just got "outplayed" or "didn't get bounces our way." It will take a real embarrassment to get ruff fired.
