I don't get that logic... we have 5 games against non-playoff teams.. where as WPG has 3 and WSH only has 4 if I recall the list while writing this properly
- MillerTime1130

Winnipeg has 3 home and 7 on the road. They will practically lose all on the road. They, however, really only have 4 or 5 'tough' games.
Washington has 5 home and 5 away but 6-7 of those games will be against 'tough' opponents.
Buffalo has 4 home, 6 away while 4-5 could be considered 'tough'.

Buffalo should squeak into the final spot IMO.... Now, this sounds terrible but they don't stand a chance against any of the top 3 teams. Pitt will probably win the conference and ass-ream us in the first round...

Well good for Pitt.. but we would play the Rags in the first round who we have played VERY tough all year. I am not saying we are gonna win but we surely don't get our asses handed to us like Philly, Boston, and Pitt usually do.

I don't see Pitt jumping over the Rags... PItt cannot keep up the pace they had been on for the last 12 games. It just doesn't happen.

TB has Roloson in net now permanetly because Garon is down.

If Miller Allows 2 goals or less we will win.

Buffalo usually shells Roloson when we play him if I remember correctly.

There is no reason why they can't. What in their gameplay leads you to believe they cannot? They are finally healthy for the first time in 2 seasons.

"THEY" is used for a term meaning more than one individual. You mean just Crosby is back.

I'm sorry man... Crosby is the best hockey player in the NHL right now.. but he is one hit... run into his own guy.. or taking a puck/stick to his helmet away from retiring.

Especially because the Rangers haven't been playing very well of late. They've been coasting for at least the last month.

If I were a betting man I'd bet a lot of money that Pitt jumps over the Rag's. They both finish the season against 4 tough opponents though. Pitt has one more home game as well.

We're screwed...

Actually Letang would be the bigger addition to the lineup right now. When Letang is out the Penguins literally have no answers for that void. When Crosby is out, Malkin and Staal can help fill that void.

No, that's actually not what he was saying at all. But Crosby just came back for those last 3 games. They won 2 of them. They only become a better team with him, but are certainly still a very dangerous one without him.

I don't know what to think. teams get hot and cool off just as fast.

If we get in I'll be happy enough. There is no point in not getting in when they have worked this hard and come back from so many points down.

There are always surprises.

Who had Lehigh beating Duke and Norfolk State beating Missouri this weekend?

I would think it is. Either of those guys would be a significant addition to any team in the league.

I've been saying for weeks that the schedule set up well for BUF and that WAS & WPG had tougher roads. Sabres have still been getting points and thats still better than not getting points. The two points they gave up were in games where they could afford it. A win tonight with a game at home against MTL.......it's within sight if not within reach.

The problem with that example is that Lehigh and Norfolk State did not have to win 4 out of 7 games against their opponents, just had to catch lightning in a bottle once.

bingo

saw how flat they were yesterday

just one more reason why I doubt a mid major team let alone small conference will ever win the basketball championship with a 64 team field

the super power conferences just have too much depth over an 8 game tourney

after saying that, I would not be surprised if ohio won another game or 2

The last week of the season concerns me more than anything. I have a feeling they'll make it up to 8th, but then won't be able to hold on because they play both Philly and Boston the last week of the season. I hope I'm wrong, but having those as 2 of our last games kind of makes me nervous.

Depends on if Philly and Boston have anything to play for... seeding?

Philly and Boston games against the Sabres are always competitive. Even when there's not anything to play for. They're good rivalries. Neither of those will be a cake walk no matter what.

We can hope they don't but it may not matter. Sabres may get points in every one of their games and still miss the playoffs by 2. They have no finish, their top line isn't doing anything marginal and their PP stinks.

If they can somehow figure out how to solve the scoring issue before its to late, They will be very hard to beat down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Maybe Ruff needs to get injured again.

Didn't Patrick go like 1-2-1 when Ruff was gone?? Just that win was the big one over Boston.

I think it was 2-1-1. Not sure though. Too lazy to look it up. I know they beat Boston, they beat Dallas, then lost the next night. Can't remember anything else.
