tough loss. not surprised though. penguins looked gased after that first goal by the flyers.
we did some things wrong. we took some dumb penalties (malkin and michalek) and we just didn't execute. philly had a great third but looked terrible in the first two. we just stopped playing defense in the third.
and another thing... frank Tyler Kennedy. i swear he holds on to the puck to get a worse shooting angle. get kennedy off sid's line and put dupuis on there.
no need to panic. i dont think we had the tiebreaker with NY anyway. we are one point back with a game left. if we can match them the rest of the season and win against them, we will be #1.
plus, i think losing a game like that can be good sometimes. we have been blowing our opponents away... sometimes it's good to lose a game like that. it lets teams know what they did wrong and how to correct it.
all in all, a fun game to watch. |

the Flyers are beyond pathetic in the shootout. That was a definite 2 points for you guys. |

Thought it was a bad play by Neil tossing it across to a Dupuis who was engaged... Let to the quick transition, should have dumped it in and played for the shootout at that point
Poor game awareness - RoloTahmasee
I very much agree. My college coach would have benched my ass for making a play like that late in a tied game. If you aren't 100% get it deep. Especially with Dupuis engaged already. |

Go back to your board and continue to cry about the reffing....how the lopsided it was to the pens...oh wait.... - madmike71
Flyers fans are much better than Rangers fans, these trolls don't even post on their own board. |

40 - 27 shots on goal. Pens had many chances to put this away. At least they had the chances. They will be hard to beat in a 7 game series. |

I read their board. most were all crying after the first two pp's, then the pens don't get another and the flyers get more.

I always find that the officiating is a little suspect when we go into Philly. With that said it didnt make a huge difference today. Best team didn't really win, but the key is the effort and the passion. We are not going to run the table to the cup. A loss is good, refresh and regroup. We got the all important point which might make it less likely to end up tied with the rags. A few things need to change though moving forward. TK!! Please put this guy in the press box. Id take any player over him as I can't stand him. In fact for two years running now he has been my least fav pen and see no use for him on this team. Sid makes everyone better except this guy. He actually makes Sid worse. Tangradi played awesome for what little I saw him today. He might be a good wing for Sid and Coookie. |

TK is really falling on his face. Waits to long to shoot and when he does he misses the net. Might be time to put sully with the 1st line, move Kunitz and Duper back with Sid and Put Staal with TK and Cooke.
Everybody was talking about Malkin disappearing when sid got back, I think it's been Staal who's a little mia |

Michalek's penalty definitely turned the game around. Malkin scored late in the 2nd and the Pens were in charge until the Flyers capatilized on that PP early and took over the momentum from there. |

I thought Staal played well, remember he seems to get the short end a bit with having his lines changed more than anyone else. Malkin's line is set and Sid is floating in and out of a few different lines including sometime on wing with Jordan and vice versa... |

guys like Kennedy and Michalek killed us today. michalek played a good game but that unnecessary penalty just killed us. Kennedy has had a lot of chances to score but just makes these bone headed plays. cooke has been great with crosby... kennedy needs to do the same. |

In two weeks if we stay healthy the game will look different between these two teams. I think DB resisted very well the obvious two headed monster routine from years past and stuck to his guns. When Sid is back 100% (80 now) we would see Sid and Malkin thrown up there again in times of need. Example 3 on 3 OT.
Neal has fallen off the mountain as teams are figuring out him a little bit(kinda got that OVI thing, hes mostly just a shot) Kuni makes that line click, just like he made the 14-87-9 line go from before. We cannot split them up no matter how much we may want to, but in certain key moments we will need the two headed monster attacking again.
I will say it again, I really wanna see Tangradi and his big body and board play with Sid and Cooke.
That leaves Sully Staal and Duper; Adams, Asham, Vitale(he is awesome for the playoffs...fill that Talbot void with less scoring mind you)
TK --join Mario in the presser and maybe learn a few things. |

So frustrating watching Kennedy. Waits forever so the shots are constantly going off shinguards and sticks. And when they do get through they're 2 feet wide. Once park and Jeffrey are healthy Tk should be sitting. |
