Sure. Fans were calling the game over after the 2nd period. Glad the team did not follow suit.

But, the "band wagon jumper" people in the building did not leave. Which would suggest they did not accept that the game was over. And the vast majority left happy. (Fewer Pens fans than usual--thank you STHs for not selling to them!)

Yes I did bring up Shelly. Is that not allowed? Did I break a rule there? Also where did I comment that anyone couldn't have an opinion?
- MJL

You mean when you tell someone "it's a tired argument" you aren't suggesting that. Excuse me, I'll get a special MJL lectionary to understand your interesting take on English idioms.

Bill, since you're so connected...

Was that the Pens first loss when leading after 2?

Spoiler for tomorrow's musings:

One thing about the Flyers. They are NOT afraid to play from behind, even against top teams. They never quit and never stop competing.

If you look at their games against Rangers and Boston, they may have a poor W-L record but they came back to tie Rangers twice in last two games (before 3rd period meltdowns), came back on Boston in each of last two games (losing both via shootout). They've come back in Penguins, come back on Detroit after giving up first goal (winning once and losing once).

The best part of all, this weekend, Bryzgalov stole them points.

I don't know if Flyers can catch Penguins or Rangers at this point, but I do know that if they get their blueline reasonably healthy and some balanced scoring, this can be a real fun spring if Bryzgalov keeps playing at this level.

No, I'm not in any way suggesting that anyone is not allowed to have an opinion on any matter. That is your interpretation. One that I'm not responsible for.

My statement was meant to illustrate that the Flyers beat one of the hottest teams, and one of the top teams in the League, with Shelley in the lineup.

I really hope we don't face them first round. Even if we some how came out of it with 4 wins, it would be a long and seriously hard fought series. No need to blow it all on the first round if we don't have to. I'm pulling for the NJD or FLD.

Just so you know not only Flyers fans can have their moments of mindless panic. A (usually sane) Ranger fan just said Lundqvist hasn't been the same since he turned 30.

Flyers looking good. Need to get some healthy bodies back. If they play 60 hard minutes this team is going to be tough to beat.

No doubt. There's no quit in this team.

They have too much talent to think a game is over. They keep fighting till the end and good teams find a way to get it done. If they put it all together for an entire game watch out.

It's a beautiful thing. Best non-playoffs game I've ever been to.

It sucks that I had to miss the game, but had a family obligation. I think it says a lot that although they haven't played their best Hockey, they are still finding a way to get points and win. That's about heart, and intestinal fortitude. It would have been easy to quit and roll over today. But they didn't to their credit. They still have some things to iron out, but that's expected for a "new" team with still a lot of young players. Not to mention the injuries. Big gut check points this weekend.

This much I can tell you Grossmann is an absolute animal out on the ice. I'm very impressed with his game and at this point he is a must sign after the season.

Hartnell was outstanding today as well. I had some questions about his game coming into the season but he has answered the bell.

Grossmann has been great. I think everyone is in agreement on that.

If there were any doubts in my mind that Hartnell is my favorite player, they've definitely been erased. Somebody spoke of a leadership he brings that doesn't come with a captain's C. That was on full display today.

Hartnell was awesome on the ice today. He continues to be a leader and I dont see how the guys cant follow him into battle.

He was very good again today. He was put out against Malkin's line for most of the day and I thought he did a great job. I can't believe Dallas was willing to trade this guy (I know the contract was an issue).
