letang's hissy fit as he headed to the locker room was neat-o

I actually like seeing that intensity on a team that had won 11 in a row.

Just about every season he's battling injuries. At this point I'm happy if he does what he did today on a regular basis. At least he's a resemblance of his old self. My main fear is he will evaporate into nothing and despite my complaining yesterday I really don't want to see that happen.
- JoeRussomanno

He's still dangerous. Once he gets a goal, they might come in bunches. He has always been a fairly streaky player.

The first seed is the kiss of death in the Eastern conference.
- JoeRussomanno

No it's not. The caps just suck and make it look that way.

He's getting older, he's battled injuries this year, and he's had a bunch of different linemates. He would be on pace for 50+ points if he played a full season, not great, but not awful either. Considering he's better in the playoffs, no reason to write Briere off yet.
- PLindbergh31

I don't think oldness happens so suddenly. I am used to seeing Briere be a pesky little sob. I wonder if that groin is a nagging issue.

Don't you need to win something to have a bandwagon?

And how many years do you have to cheer for someone before you're not "on the bandwagon" anymore? I've searched the internet for these answers but am having no luck. Like I started cheering when Mario started playing, I was 12. So technically I was a bandwagon fan then, does that mean I still am now? How many years is a 'bandwagon'? Can you get off a "bandwagon"? If you get off a "bandwagon" and then your team wins again, are you automatically back on the "bandwagon"? I look forwad to your clarification on this matter.

Look that comment is clearly a generalized statement. If it doesn't apply to you then don't let it. Problem I had with the other individual is feeling the need to come over here and talk poop. You want to talk hockey fine i don't really care your team affiliation but trying to turn this into a highschool cafeteria trash talk session is annoying. Especially when your team lost and now I have to listen to someone try and bring us down.

Definitely, that passion was probably a combination of that win streak coming to and end, but mostly losing a tightly fought game to a rival and blowing the 2-0 lead.

Definitely. Letang is a stud. I'm sure most Penguins fans would rather see Washington/Florida/Winnipeg/Buffalo as opposed to seeing the Flyers in the first round.

I suppose. Hopefully the good streak comes. I would wish for him to be a more consistent player. Also I'm not a big fan of one dimensional players so he gets a bit of bias from.

It's possible. As another poster mentioned, he still might be tentative due to the concussion.

I thought Coots did a really good job, playing over 20 minutes today. He is just so sound defensively.

As long as the team is winning, and he's not a liability, I can live with Briere being a bit invisible...but he was a liability in both games this weekend.

I can't believe Rinaldo didn't lose at least 4 teeth, it was brutal to watch. He played well, but I would rather have him on the 4th line, then on a checking role. He can play an effective game when he stays focused.

As mentioned above whoever got out of the first round would be hurting. 8 straight games like today would be killer.

Yo, Rocky!!

Bryz had an excellent weekend. He stole them a point in Boston, despite not having success in the gimmick afterward, and he was very strong today. Didn;t have much of a chance at the 1st goal and the second one Malkin just beasted.

- Jsaquella

Hey J.

Ya, too bad Bryz had to lift his pad on the Malkin goal. He got across and had it far enough to the post but just raised it enough so Malkin could slide it under. I'm glad I was wrong about Bryz a while back. I thought he was a couple of bad goals from another meltdown. He seems to really have got it together after he had that talk with the boys.

You never know. There are no easy roads. I can't believe the Blues are the first team to 100 points, and by a pretty wide margin. What a job Hitchcock has done.
