THANK YOU!!! Thank you!!!

He keeps on being dealts cold hard facts, but briere will still suck, careers over!!!

- Sabreshark

I've dealt you cold hard facts relating to the here and now yet you give me his past playoff performances. Yet you are grossly overlooking the fact he had good regular seasons that year too. I'm sorry but the Flyers continue to lose these big games by one goal where Briere is a no show lighting the lamp. Read between the lines: he's the highest paid player not showing up for the big games!

Oh I see, so you're ragging on a guy who's having an off season, meanwhile the whole team comes out flat again in an afternoon, and he's the accountable one.

I understand he has a big contract, but no matter what he does, he is worth it in the playoffs, year in and year out. Until he bombs in the playoffs, I'm not willing to trash him. This guy has had so many doubters and haters in his first couple of years, and he's proven them wrong. One bad season when he had a concussion, I might add, and you jump all over him.

It's just not right, Joe. It's just not right.

Saw the game on the road, though I DVR'd it for later, as I was out most of the day. I got to watch the third period, OT, and gimmick at an Applebee's. At least they got a point out of it and can now focus on tomorrow's challenge.

I hope you had a great time at the game and are enjoying meeting some of the Flyers.

Ok, so the option that doesn't actually exist except in pipe dreams. Now, who is the one conjuring unicorns and other fantasy creatures?
- BulliesPhan87

That option did exist before so it's not exactly unicorns and fantasy creatures. I have been a pretty good judge on when players are done and when they are just slumping. Yes I feel right now he's done. It's not like he's getting stuck playing with Rinaldo and Shelley. He's not just having pucks bounce against him either. This is a serious red flag the streak he's going through and unfortunatley he's becoming Scott Gomez right before us. All the years where he had big playoff numbers he was performing in the regular season. That's the problem with pointing out his pst p/o performances. Today is a day when he needed to show up and unfortunately again, he was MIA.

We all know he's sucking, that's been made thoroughly clear (both on this forum and on the ice this season). Let me ask, what exactly are you suggesting be done about it? There's only a few options here:
1) Scratch or bench Briere, which only has limited potential to provide a psychological spark for him
2) Fantasize about an amnesty that hasn't shown any sign of actually being an option
3) Continue to complain about him without any conversational direction
4) Do what Briere is hopefully trying to do: suck it up, take it a game at a time, and hope he finds his groove sooner rather than later

- BulliesPhan87

I'm gonna go with "Continue bashing Briere some more." AKA 3. 'Cause that's been the HB and Twitter behavior to date. It might change come playoff time. I'll have to get back to you on that.

Uh Sorry but if you're gonna give me his past performance than thats great here's what you're missing, all those other years he was productive in the regular season too. This year he isn't.

He's got 59 points in 57 playoff games as a Flyer. Not worried unless he's invisible after Game 82.

I'm going out again. Good evening, hooligans!

I think Briere would be a perfect compliment to Nuge and Eberle.

I'd say there is reason for concern, but not to work one's self into a froth over it.

Until the rest of his career transpires, you can't offer his career being over as fact. This amnesty isn't fact, either. The only basis for it is that some guys somewhere said that it's be a good idea for some reason. Do you think the NHLPA is going to be ok with giving thirty of its members the shaft? Let's not forget, they have the leverage of refusing the realignment the NHL wants. So again, this amnesty option is PURELY supposition.

He's had one bad season, assuming this continues through to the offseason. Let's leave the unnecessary name value of Scott Gomez out of this and focus on the fact at hand: Danny Briere is a highly paid player on the Flyers with a big salary contract, three more seasons, and a NMC (given the factors, expect him to be a Flyer next season), and he's had a poor season. Nothing beyond that is a given.

Believe it or not Joe, he is on pace for 44 points in 72 games. His previous worst season as a Flyer was in 08-09 where he played 75 games and got 53 points. He could have a good end to the season and match that total.

So I think your announcing the end of his career is pretty ridiculous.
