It's not stupid and to keep hanging your hat on his playoff performance while we are losing needed points in the regular season is just making excuses. He's having a bad year, he's the highest paid player on the team and he needs to do more than get 1 goal in two months. All the stuff you are giving him a pat on the back for is nice, but seriously his contract status dictates he needs to do more.
- JoeRussomanno

Sure he needs to do more but he was a big part of both goals today but not one person has said that y cause he didn't score?? He does need to produce but people callin him useless is absurd

he's not useless. i don't agree with those that say that. i just wish he'd wake up.
- hammarby31

If there wasn't so many injuries he'd be last year's Zheredev in the fact he'd be healthy scratched a lot. He is absolutely terrible defensively and can't do poop otherwise. I saw another poster in here comment on how he glides and that can't be more true. Hope I'm wrong but the playoff parade for Danny boy looks to be cancelled this year too, then what?

My theory on Briere...

I think Sam Beckett quantum leaped into Briere's body to put right something that once went wrong in Briere's life... But that means Sam has to play hockey too.... Oh Boy!

His contributions on those plays were rather routine. He needs to be having a much bigger impact on games like today, sorry.

I think Giroux has more than pulled his weight this year at half the money of Briere.

Here's the problem. I defend players to the death when they show me something. Briere isn't taking over games and really has only done it like maybe 3 or 4 times this year. Is he hurt? Maybe and would be good explanation. But I really don't see signs of an injury with him. I don't know what his problem is either. I just think we are seeing the beginning of the end with him. Unfortunately that means we are going to eat 6.5 million for the next three years in a cap hit.

Guys on tv say people have bad games when they have good games too so I'm not all stuck on that. Briere also feeds poop to the media which makes it hard for them to vilify him. But yes this is a game where he needed to do more than get an assist. Getting beat by the elite teams in the conference with 0 goals by your top paid winger says a lot.

#1. Yes, Danny sucks right now. We all know that. But come playoff time i GUARANTEE to all of you that he eill be the Danny of old, and the clutch playoff performer that we know he is.

#2. Yes, Bryz needs to stop atleast 1 there. But lets face it, if it wasnt for him, we wouldnt have even been in that position. He was great in regulation, and really a big part of why we got 1 point.

#3. I cant see anyone stopping Pittsburgh. We'll be finishing 5th. You cant win them all. Boston always plays great against us, we all knew this was coming.

Lets go out tomorrow and get atleast 1 point tomorrow, ill be very happy. I lnow this team can beat any team in the league in a 7 game series. You negative poops just keep on hating and then jump back on the bandwagon come playoff time.

GO FLYERS!!!

what does them beating pitt have to do with Briere? If the deadweight in the lineup was scratched it would probably increase their chances.

If you're referring to me it's because you have no honest realistic explanation other than candy canes and unicorns. Sorry but he's circling the drain and unfortunately the team is tied to him and sinking with him.

Fact: Briere has the 3rd most points of any Flyer player this month, next to G and Read.

Ya the team sure is sinking with their 7-2-1 record this month, T2 best streak in the NHL!

Anymore facts? You can hate on Briere all you want, but year after year he tears it up come playoff time, and when he does, i dont want you on the bandwagon.

Really what's their record against the Bruins and Rags and Pens? Those are the teams you gotta beat in the playoffs. Unfortunately he's done a whole lot of nothing against those teams. Good that's great he has a hat trick against the senators whoop de frank seravalli doo and an OT goal agains the Islanders a whole lotta help that will do us in SAY the conference finals. Yup he's pulling his weight and bound for the con smythe got it.

Fact: Briere has more points than Hartnell, Jagr, and twice as much as Simmonds this month.

Why no hating on Hartnell, Jagr, Voracek, Simms for not performing this month???

The team is sinking? Joe, it was one loss. The Flyers have been playing a lot of great hockey as a team lately.

As for Briere "getting up for the playoffs", it may be optimistic thinking, but the idea that a player can catch fire after a weak season isn't fantasy. Ask Scott Hartnell about 2009-10. Sometimes a highly paid player has a bad season. It sucks. All that can be done is have them lace up the skates, take the ice, and try to reverse their fortune.
