There are like 5 times the people exiting the workforce in the next 10 years in Canada than entering it.

Its pretty simple, Canada needs immigration but they need to have educated employable immigrants not uneducated refugees.

that's the problem with family class immigration.

you can get one employable guy through the doors but if he brings his elderly parents, in laws, unemployed bro in law...

I have had friends turned away from positions because they are white, no joke. Some companies/government positions are mandated to have so many, call them non-whites or immigrants I guess, on staff. I'm not racist, and I'm not exactly against immigration, but there has to be some changes made or something, it's outta hand imo. I think it would be hard to raise a family working at KFC.

years back I was thinking of becoming a cop so I took some standardized test at the RCMP office in Montreal.

I received a letter literally telling me that my score was acceptable if I was a visible minority but the standard was higher for whites.

Exactly. I don't mind the idea of hired already and immediate family visas only. I also don't mind the idea of training programs abroad to enable refugees to meet standards but there shouldn't be some carte blanche where they can ride the system in comfort on taxpayer dime.

and they know who they're letting in too.

my mom is a volunteer for St-Vincent-de-Paul, they're the standard charity organization that helps people with food, lodging, clothing, etc.

She says most of the people who come in are new immigrants who get a list from some organizations of all the orgs they can hit up for help with that stuff.

Some are so well organized they can get assistance from a bunch of places with their rent so it's rent free, same for food and clothing so they basically just use all their government cheques to send some money back to wherever they're from.

If you send $50 back to Pakistan every months the guy at the other end is living like a (frank)ing king over there.

Kind of sad. Originally the socialist angle was dependent upon integrity and honesty within the population, thats no longer the case, immigrant or not.
