I don't see players taking a lower part of revenues AND another rollback.

The owners will have the opportunity to buyout contracts without penalty but NO WAY the players agree to a rollback.

Then we are in for another lockout.

The owners will want 50/50 sharing similar to the NBA CBA. The revenues have gone up every year since the lockout. Players will still make the same amount of money even if the cap is reduced slightly. A 50/50 sharing would have the cap around 61 million which is only 2 million less than the actual cap.

CAp is at 57 ... I doubt they get 50%. The way they talk about it... it will be reduced... I'd say mid way is the best way to look at it. 53-54%

Im not even sure of what the impact would be... but Im quite sure it wouldn't be disastrous. Would actually help the smaller markets.

It would.

They also have to look at the cap floor. In 2004, the floor was $21.5 million. This season, it was $43.4 million. A lot of small market teams can't afford that. As the revenues go up, the floor will eventually reach $50 million which isn't going to help the markets that are struggling.

Fair enough

I have nothing especially better to do with all this spare time anyways... why not spend it shooting the poop with my fellow hockey-lovers
