with the rags playing so-so, our game coming together and three more h2h matchups with the pens, i find the division lead to be in view. a reach perhaps, but not entirely out of the question. let's put our best roster on the ice. particularly against quality opponents.

They're not in a dogfight to make the playoffs, they've basically clinched already, so:

- I don't want to tire out my #1 goalie down the stretch
- I want to keep Bob fresh in case of an injury or another mental lapse

- bradleyc4

I don't think they've basically clinched. An 8 or 10 game losing streak can happen. Not that I think it's going to. I don't see any issue in tiring out Bryzgalov. And if Bryzgalov get's hurt, or falters again, it's not really going to matter anyway. Bryzgalov is the #1. He should be used as the #1. Big games that can propel a team. Go in fully loaded.

nor would i. but with tilts against the panthers, caps, lightning, habs, leafs, sens and sabres, there are plenty of opportunities to roll four lines and three d pairs and play bob.

Agreed, he's 31 not 41.

Although, Bob does play well againsts the Pens.

Indeed.

Big weekend for both teams and that is an understatement.

What did you think of the Rags playing Biron last night instead of Lundy? I thought they should have went with their #1 personally. Just wondering your thoughts

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with Bill. Last night there were times when the Flyers were completely dominate, including on defense. Then there were times they had defensive lapses like in the first period, and right after the first goal. But all in all I think they put together another solid performance. Your not going to be able to shut down every team defensively every night. I think the Flyers are definately moving in the right direction come playoff time.
- RooNosHockey

I think the Flyers did what they had to do. The first line had some dominant shifts. But overall, they weren't dominant. And they certainly weren't dominant defensively during the game. I thought they limited the quality chances. But the Isles spent considerable attack time in the Flyers zone. That's not being dominant defensively.

I know it will be tough, but I would really like to try for first. It gives the guys something to shoot for, so there arent any "trap" games against the non-playoff teams... If they have thier eyes set on a goal, then even if they dont make it they will be playing hard for the playoffs... maybe catch a team that was just cruisin by off guard...
- RooNosHockey

So I did some math... In order for the Flyers to win the Atlantic they will have to go 10-1-1, while the rangers go 6-5-1, and Penguins go 8-4-1, or any similiar combinations.... Its going to be tough since we play the penguins 3 times, Rangers once, and Boston once.

NJ gives us fits for some reason but we are rolling pretty good so I see a win there. Flyer games are always a toss up, both teams are play good hockey right now.

Everyone needs to accept the fact we get the rags out of the way in the first round

Exactly. That's what Bryz was signed for. Let him play in the big games. He had plenty of rest earlier in the season. He will be around the same number of games as most #1 goalies in the league are at. Not even an issue imo.

I think it should be a really good game. We tend to not play to good during the day due to the fact half the team are vampires. Stupid sun light.

How do you figure he had plenty of rest though? I think he plays through the weekend but Bob is back in there for Florida.

So you think Pitsburgh takes first, Rangers 4th and Flyers 5th? I can see that... Its not Ideal, but if we take 4th or 5th, no matter who we land its going to be a tough series...

I think this is the worst season I have seen when it comes to seeding... Points wise the Atlantic is 1, 2, 3, and 4... solidly. Its just a shame at least 1 of the best teams isnt going to have the chance to make it through....

How has he not had enough rest? What do you want your number one goalie to play 50 games?

He's already played over 50 games. Less than 60 games is ideal. I've already demonstrated over and over how goalies who get more than 60 starts don't win a lot of cups lately.
