“Some players want to go and get the most money they can, which is fine,” Parise said. “Do whatever you want. Then you have a lot of players who want to be somewhere where you’re going to have the best chance to win."
And with him saying this you still think he would even think of coming to this Circus we call a hockey club?
that statement right there tells me 99% chance Wade hangs up after hearing Garths voice - Killer' Carlson
J.P. was also quoted as saying: “He's overly loyal, and he's not going to rush into anything. He's always loved the New Jersey Devils. He's been extremely loyal to the organization, to his teammates. But this is business now.”
Zach smiled.
“That,” he said, “is true.” |

this team needs 3 defensman and two top 6 forwards..until thin it doesn't matter who the coach is - NYI78
Dan, I agree we need two top 6 forwards...assuming PA signs...if not then we need 3. Reagrding defensemen, if they can get two legitimate NHL quality d-men they should be ok...on he goalies I think Id go with Nielson and Puolin and maybe sign an Emery or Turco type vet...but Garth won't do any of that... |

Fair enough, your opinion...but as I see it the rebuild portion of stcoking the farm with good young prospects is done...of course you always do that in hockey but we got our early picks over the last few years (JT, Nino, Strome, deHann, Nelson, Kabanov, Poulin, Neilson etc)...what I'm trying to say is that portion of the rebuild is done..the next part is a GM attracting some decent ''not over the hill'' talent into the system and creating an identity and atmosphere of winning...do you not feel this rebuild is gone into overtime.... - Nolanders

Signing Parise for 8.5 is very short sighted. Good teams are not made by having a single super star. If things turn around for this organization and you get back to a point of spending to the cap, you need depth. Having too much money tied into too few players is a great way to end up mired in mediocrity for very long stretches. Parise is a great two-way player but allot of that is because he plays on very deep NJ teams. Right now he is the second pony at the county fair. Kovy draws allot of the coverage away from Zach, and allows Parise to effectively use his buzz bomb tactics. If you think Parise is going to be the same player on LI, i think you're mistaken.
I would almost guarantee NYI is out of the question for Zach. He knows his strengths. - WayneZ
most ridiculous comment for 2 main reasons:
1) if the devils signed him for 7-8 youd be thrilled
2) since you bring up kovy, how much did he sign for? |

Kovy's cap is 6.66.
If i had it my way zach wouldn't make a penny more, as i've stated numerous times.
If LL pays that kid 8+ million he should be drug into the slums of newark and shot. NO way he deserves more than 6.66, but i'll bend and give him 7, MAX. |

I was actually at the Devils/Rags game at the Rock a few weeks ago, it's really nice. Although I did walk fairly quickly from the Path train to the Rock |

if youre gonna go on a racist rant you might as well be accurate with the stereotypes. its the "R"s and "L"s that are the issue...."Fans" doesnt not translate to "Frans" on the other hand "Frans" would translate to "Flans"...you gotta get updated on your stereotypes - LetsGoIsles
Oooh christ am I being pulled over by the PC police?
Thanks for the lesson but since I'm not a racist I'm not looking to perfect my silly little stereotypes
Or would you rather me like Shaquille O'Neal and go " 'Ching chong yang, wah, ah soh" |

OK, and this has do what?? The fact that he knows its business?
So there for that statment obviously trumps the fact that he still wants to goto a winner.
Cause its already known that he can't get his nice payday while being with a so called cup contender.
But if a few fans on here wanna have their fairytale dreams, by all means... enjoy

I don't disagree with any of that, but I'd prefer to take back Nabby before signing Emery or Turco. Those guys struggle on good teams, they'd be everyone's whipping boy about 5-7 games into the season, playing on this team. Nabby has been up and down here, but I'm not sure those guys would be an upgrade. Different story if Nabby walks. |

Cap hit is all that matters. Its how many players, and the quality of those players you can fit in your lineup, while remaining under the cap. Kovy could be make 400 million a year, but from a cap perspective, he gets his 6.66. |

Who was it that signed our coach, didn't get rid of him when it was obvious to everyone that he was n't cpapble and then gave him the thumbs up saying he was doing a good job when he definitely was'nt? Whose fault is that? Mine? |
