I dont think we can just ignore the good that Rinaldo does as well. Having him in the lineup in the playoffs would add some jam, which surely benefited the Bruins last year..
Honestly... come playoff time, I hardly believe that Wellwood would be seeing substantial PK time.
More likely that G, Schenn, Read, Coots, Talbot and co would take on those responsibilities.
EDIT: With that being said, I wouldnt mind either of the two playing... - jak521
Rinaldo/Couts/Talbot would be a great 4th line for the playoffs

Schenn has seen very little of any PK time since he broke his foot early in the season. I highly doubt he sees any PK time. That's something he'll probably have to work into next season, unless key pieces to the PK begin to drop like flies.
Today's find - if you watch the replay, and watch the goalie from straight on, well, you just don't see goaltending like that anymore.
- wilsonecho91
Edwards was a good goalie, too, but he looked about 3-foot-5 by time Poulin pulled the puck to the backhand. He made a perfect shot to the top shelf (would probably have been a goal even today), but Poulin even had room to stuff inside the post. So much open net!
The goaltending today is miles ahead of where it was in the 1980s, in terms of technique, equipment and the size of most goalies nowadays. A 5-foot-9 goalie like Edwards would never get a sniff of the NHL draft anymore, much less winning a Vezina as Edwards once did.
BTW, that sequence also goes to show that even a HHOF defenseman like Al MacInnis sometimes gets beaten badly -- hockey keeps you humble, for sure.
Why sign Shelley to a 3 year deal worth 1.1 mil per? Some things we will never understand.
(that should help get things back on (off?) track) - funmaster18
The Flyers arent married to Shelley. His contract runs out after next season. How crazy would that be if you signed contracts while getting married (number of years)?

Sounds like nothing but a headache and drama. I rather avoid all of that by not getting married. - stveshdy
In all seriousness From my experience those that do just don't appreciate what they have and are too young or immature to be married. It makes for good humour to joke about when you've been married for 10 years or more like myself ( I sounds crazy) so there you go.

I miss the way the games were called back then. Focused on the play, no BS. - tangent_man
YOu ain't kidding. I have game 6 of the 87 scf's dvrd and man what a relief to listen to those guys. To think that was the cup round and how non-circus they were.

True. What about the people who have been married for 20 years and are mature but still cheat on their wives?

3 years of Shelley seems like a lifetime to some people

Just bored I guess.
Look marriage isn't for everyone. It's an old world institution that I think over the next 100 years or so society will have to change the way it is perceived. I don't mean to highjack the thread either so that's the end of my input on the subject here.

I think in a 3-2 playoff game with 2 minutes left... you would be seeing Talbot-Coots
G-Read.
If one of those were in the box.. id be willing to bet Schenn would be the next to get the nod.
