Calgary is going to own us tonight... I say with the way Kipper and Iggy have been playing lately (carrying the entire team) 4-1 finish... I really want the Nuge to get a couple goals tonight but can not see it happening...

Edit:He's scored 40 goals and 81 points in only 58 regular-season games with the Kitchener Rangers this year, shattering the standard set by another 2011 selection -- you (and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, the NHL and everyone else) may have heard of him: Gabriel Landeskog, who notched 66 points (36 goals) in 53 last season with the same club.

He isn't that small at 5'11". Even though we have a small team, his improvement just one year out of his draft year is nothing to sneeze at. It will be exciting to see how he does next year (probably back in the CHL). If he continues to develop he could become a better overall version of Omark. The best thing about him is that he isn't playing with other players who are really ripping it up. He's leading the Rangers in points by a pretty healthy margin. Always a good sign.

EDIT: and he just turned 19. 40 goals at that age with limited support is big-time.

He's been playing well all year you just don't know how to judge a defensive player.

With Bunz as our starter and Gernat as our #1 D? Sweet.

That being said he's had an impressive year thus far.

No doubt about it, but people need to realize that this isn't uncommon. We go through this every year. Last year it was Hamilton, Marincin and Martindale lighting it up, this year it's Gernat and Reider.

Yep. I mean if you expected 40 points out of him then ya it's a brutal year.

Belanger Regular Season 67 3 11 14 -13

I'm sure the Oilers know they made a mistake on giving him a 3 years contract...

Hamilton's numbers were good, but his team lost 12 games all season. Marincin had a terrific year last season and this year after he was traded picked up where he left off, and Martindale was a beneficiary of having a (frank)ing incredible line to play with. Reider seems to be the pack leader. Not saying he's the next superstar, but it's very promising to see a 4th rounder producing so well starting the season at 18 years old.

This is the first time ever I have agreed with you. And now twice in one day. 40 point expectations aside, he could at least chip in something. He's a good defensive player, but even defensive players need to be able to chip in from time to time. Hopefully he bounces back next season.
