It's not that they won, it's how they won.

Potter nominated for the Masterson trophy.
- OilHorse

I wish no one was nominated. Leave it to the guys that came back from some sort of career threatning injury. Not let's give it to a 28 year old who figured out the NHL for 15 games, got a big contract and is back to his regular play that we should've expected all along.

Not to mention got a spot on the only NHL team in the league that had a defense weak enough.

Now if Fedun makes the squad next season that would be a real Masterton nominee.

So how about that to get a bonus 1st this year.

Then our 2nd this year and next year plus a prospect for another 1st this year.

Then we get Murray, Reinhart and Faska...

- OilHorse

I'm all about trading next year's first, if not for anything but to add some (frank)ing accountability to next year's results to make that pick outside the top 10.

That I can agree with. I guess my next question is who exactly has a good case for the Masterton? Langkow? Crosby?

The solution isn't drafting more prospects. If you wanna win next year, trade the pick for immediate help, that helps us now and in the future.

The more I see Nick Schultz, the more I approve of the Tom Gilbert for Schultz deal. He's calm. Oilers needed a calm guy back there. Hope he gets Top 4 minutes and plenty of ice next season.

The more I see Nick Schultz, the more wish that he were Tom Gilbert's partner on the Oiler's D.
With Smid-Petry, Whitney-Potter & Sutton, the Oilers would start next season with 7 actual NHL calibre D-men for the first time since....

He had a really bad case of VD (got it from Laughs' sister). Which is why he played like poop last year. After intensive treatment in the offseason he fully recovered and has gone on to post stellar number with the St.Louis Blues this season.

While I don't disagree sometimes that's how she goes. Have to give up to get something and Gilbert has been here quite long without results. Might as well see if a different piece is better.

It shouldn't be a shock to anyone that he is what he is now. He has some tools and in a limited role would be great for this team.

Hahahahahahahaha at Scott Cullen... Still doing whatever he can to (frank) over The Nuge... Notice that the minimum games played requirement will continuously increase by just enough to keep The Nuge off the list. Also notice that the "overall" minimum requirement is less than the "rookie" requirement.

It's not just him. I haven't heard too many guys come out and say they'd pick RNH. Right now it's Landeskog for the most part.

I'm referring to The Nuge being kept off of the list due to a laughable minimum requirement. I'm not saying anything about Landeskog being ranked as #1! Pay attention!!!
