You sure you don't want us at the 1 or the 6??
- ryman1566

I'll take you as the 1 as long as we are the 3, and you can be the 6 if we are the 8

Since the NHL decided to schedule Pens games 3 weeks apart (and then 3 in 4 nights).

I took my kids to their first game last year, saw a win and had a great time.

Then, they fell apart, again.

Up 2-1 on the O's right now....woooo.

Grapefruit league championship.

You can't tell me the atmosphere in Pittsburgh during April-July wasn't awesome? I went to a few games loved every minute of it

I remember catching a couple of innings of a game against the Reds, probably late July, the place seemed electric (pretty sure the Pirates were in 1st place, or close to it, at that point). Not sure that stadium has ever experienced that before when it didn't involve fans of the Yankees/Red Sox/Phillies creating the electricity.

would love to talk more hockey. i just didnt want people to think i would be constantly beating a dead horse. with such gaps between games, there is only so much to say. i am trying to remain as reserved as possible with crosby, and the more i talk about it, the harder it is to do.

I never liked Lidge, but guess I have to root for him to do well now. Are you on board with Papelbon ?

he is definitely a good closer i think. however, i dont think the move in itself was that great. madsen, who was underrated in my opinion, signed for practically peanuts for the reds. papelbon is an improvement, but the difference in contracts is greater than the gain in talent in my eyes. that extra money should have went towards the lineup.

blues remind me of the pens a bit. With mcdonald and backes missing the 1st half of the season, and steen and d'agostini still gone, they still continue to win. love to see a pens/blues matchup in the SC
- drummer829

Backes hasn't missed a game this season. Thinking of Perron maybe?

and I agree, I would like and think this will be the SCF.

They draw pretty well on Fireworks night as well. Thing about Pittsburgh is they work hard for their money (like everyone else) and they won't spend it on a stinker. However from May until August you would have been hard pressed to find Buccos gear at your local Richard's. They were selling it faster than they could get it on the shelves. Having a 4 year old son it was fun to be able to have him watch a winner for a bit. I actually love what management has done recently and I'm excited for the future. We waited 19 years what's another 3-5?

A hell of a lot. I've never seen a winning season. That is unacceptable from a professional team. I loved baseball in my teenage years, the Pirates squashed that with their 3rd "5 year plan".

Can't blame you for feeling that way. Luckily for me when I was in little league they were winning.

just make sure you keep any sort of new york logos away from your boy. long stretches of such bad ownership can cause yankees fans to unfortunately sprout up in even the best of households.

good to see devotion even through hard times. i must say its only penguins for me. the only teams i really follow intensely are the penguins and phillies. for some reason i have always hated the steelers. i think because of bill cowher

I'm definitely Pittsburgh professional sports only. Penguins are the only team I have a real emotional obsessive attachment to though.
