Realistically, they need LB help badly. - Gunner Staal
Very untrue im pretty happy with are LB core.... Barnett, Moats, Merriman, Morrison,Batten, and Kelvin Sheppard.... i may be missing one or two. But im pretty happy with them... we really need a #1 CB

Barnett was a BEAST last year. I'm surprised he can still stand.
Merriman needs to stay healthy.
Moats, situational passrusher, not quite everydown guy yet.
Morrison/batten, pretty good so far.
Sheppard was the weak link. Too slow in the run game.

We have very different perceptions of that position it seems.

I'm not sure I could agree less. Not trying to offend, but definitely thought LB was - in absolute runaway fashion - our worst position last year.
WRs murdered the interior. They couldn't stop the run, either. And, even when Buffalo would dial up blitz packages, they couldn't beat most offensive lines.
I actually agree with your comments 100%, and is exactly why i dont think this is there weakest link. I think our CBs are our weakest by FARRRRR - CoHo_to_B-Lo
I don't think DBs are great, but I do believe an average DB corps can be masked by a great pass rush.
The New York Giants have done it twice in the past decade.
The same can't be said - at least to the same extent - for LBs. They have to be effective.

With a Bulked up D-Line and another year of experience i think they will be ok. Barnett is a great leader and every one else is young. I think we will see alot of improvement out of them this year.

But they are moving to a 4-3, the LB's will have a different function now.

I'm not positive it's going to be a full change. I know Chan said the 4-3 was coming, but I wouldn't be shocked to see this team running a hybrid after training camp.
If they add Mario, though, 4-3 becomes a bit inevitable. Too much rush!
Switch to a 4-3 full time, be able to hit the quarterback WITHOUT blitzing, and you won't hear many Bills fans complaining about their CB play. - SabreHess
I really hope Mario signs with the Bills, they deserve a break. But stop saying they would be the best defensive line in the league when they haven't taken a snap together yet.
Last year Philadelphia and Minnesota led the NFL with 50 sacks, and ALL 5 of the NFC East teams finished in the top ten in team sacks.
The Bills were tied for 27th with 29 sacks on the year. Only the Titans and Bucs had fewer.
Sure K. Williams was hurt last year, Dareus was a rookie, and Mario Williams wasn't on the team. But even if you ink Mario that doesn't make it the best D-Line in the league, there is a lot to prove. But it sure does help.

More variables than sacks to determine the lines effectiveness. I am in the company that believe they would definitely be in the discussion for top defensive line.
