wish he would have had some of this pop last year, but i have to say i am happy to see talbot scoring and playing so well for you guys last year. truly one of the best guys in the league.
- stayinthefnnet

I was really happy with that signing last offseason, and haven't been disappointed since. Heart and soul, and a bit more too.

I am actually hoping they can get in on the Weber sweepstakes after NEXT season. Now there is a guy I would blow up the cap for.

- MBFlyerfan

I would rather take my chances drafting some D-men in this years draft and hope 1 turns out to be a star, then to get into a bidding war for Weber and way overpaying...

I'm not sure its overpayment. Schenn is young and should develop into a much nicer player then Meszaros. Voracek is RFA, so let toronto work out his deal, and Kulemin is a defensively sound player, that has shown he has pop in the past... this year has been terrible for him, but he could easily pop 30 for this team again... I dont know.. I just want to see the Schenn Bros together... lol
- RooNosHockey

I like Schenn as a player. But he doesn't have the all around skills that Meszaros has. So I don't think it's a given that he develops into a much nicer player then Meszaros. Adding Grossmann, if they keep him, has eliminated the need for a stay at home defender like Luke Schenn. And Grosmann is a better player then Schenn.

I can attest to this! When I write my blog I constantly get picked apart by editors and readers. So when I see it in your stuff Bill it doesn't bother me at all. You're analysis is spot on and that's what builds your credibility with me not some ridiculous observance of some rule on commas or spelling of names. Maybe it sounds as though my standards are low but really when reading one's own work it is more difficult than some people think. I can't explain it but yea crap happens and imo is why editors are needed.

I just read your 6 teams the flyers don't want to face in the playoffs and it was dead on. The only other team that worries me is Winnipeg. For whatever reason they've given us problems the oast few years. That's of coursr assuming they make the playoffs. Who knows with that division.

Would be kind of nice to resign Kubina, Carle, and Grossmann, then trade Meszaros, a pick and Voracek to Toronto for Schenn and Kulemin in the offseason.

I was saying basically that neither is physical. Specifics were not all that important but I said it a stupid way.

It seems most people aren't worried about their lack of physicality when paired together. I'm not saying they can't work, but when 4 of your defenseman have a mean streak in them I'd prefer to not pair up the 2 that don't.

- pyromantic

Timonen has worked well with Gustafsson too (not just Carle), both last year and this year. Neither are physically dominant, but I'm not clenching glute muscles when they're on the ice like I was with the Krajicek/Parent pairing, either.

overall, an excellent game, and i love shoving it down nj's throat. just wish the pp was sharper.

and those "marginal" interference calls, were horrendous. hartnell was clearly checked into brodeur both times, with the ref in perfect view. for the life of me, i can't understand how these calls are made over and over and over again. it's like watching the wwf.

Final Fantasy 6's Kefka, actually. Not quite as old as Army of Darkness, but old enough I was surprised folks recognized it last night.

Spock will return someday, I felt the need for a little madness

Grosmann has been dominant. Couldnt think of a better find. I think resigning him should be a pretty important priority.

Also, I really think we have a heck of a find in Gusty. He gets better and better every game.

So that was another RooNosHockey a few months ago whom I had that long and ardous debate about getting Iginla? And for 7mill a year there is no right price until that contract expires

I'm on the fence with Gustafsson. I think he's a decent player, and is competitive. But I think his lack of size really limits him.

I'm not going to say that I wasn't contimplating a trade, but at the time I was saying as far as getting a forward I would take Iginla if no-one else was available... You have to remember, that at that time our offense was struggling, our team was struggling, we had a lot of injuries, and we were lacking leadership...

I hope he's limited in a just-like-Timonen sort of way.

Hmm, check back after tax season. I may have something for you. Have you donated to the kickstarter yet?
