Ive been saying this, washington doesnt need two first round picks, i was sure theyd make a deal at the trade deadline, they are one of those teams that NEED to make the playoffs. I just wonder what it would take to grab one of them, like Omark, Peckham and our 2nd? i dunno if theyd do that though. I actually really like Andrei Vasilevski, he was amazing in the world juniors.

If I'm WSH I'm trading those picks for proven players. They probably are losing Semin, they will need someone who can for sure play top 6, not a maybe. I see them being hard after the ANA trio or Nash.

Where is Semin going? To the KHL? Or another team?

KHL is the rumor. Wants similar money and doesn't sound like anyone will give it to him.

Ya i figured as much as well, though the problem is that their picks are in the lower 15 of the draft so they would need to throw more than just a pick. Though they do have kuznetsov, they could maybe throw both their firsts and him for nash.

OR, this just came to me, maybe a hemsky for a first straight up. Probably a terrible deal for the Oil but Hemsky would probably look really good on a line with OV and Backstrom.

One year stop gap isn't exactly the end of the world.

I would be more worried about him getting some crazy contract extension.

Hockey news has him ranked around 10th for prospects and the Oilers ranked 1st. They are really high on him and Musil
- abware

Do you know what Hockey News ranked Musil?

Also, I just got a philosophy assignment back, and the prof commented that I called one of the philosophers by the wrong name... I still got an 80 in the assignment, but I called Kant, "Katz" for the entire assignment hahahaahahaa I have hockey on the brain

Pietrangelo would be ideal. However, st louis won't trade him, i see some Norris trophies in his future.

I like the idea of trading our first 2013 pick (to promote winning and support player signing) with Paajarvi for bernier and voynov. I want us to keep this years pick if possible. I would throw another pick or decent prospect in as well like martindale.

Then maybe do a trade with Detroit for Brendan smith who would be on our squad for sure but we would have to overpay. Unlikely Detroit trades him but every team has ther price.

I'd rather trade the 2012 1st because it has more value. There's more options other than Pietro anyways.

I really don't think it matters. At some point Peckham was going to get back in. might as well be tonight.

I'd like to see them try eager in the top 6. He has 7 goals in 49 games averaging only 8 min per game. He has speed size and grit, also a decent shot. What do we hae to lose. We tried petrell. Hemsky gagner eager.

How is MPS doing in the AHL playoff drive? Did he get any goals lately? I hope he breaks out next year and we solidify the top 6 with Hemsky... I have noticed a few times per game where Hemsky went out of his element and created scoring chances... nice to see... interesting to see if he and others come into training came with more of an edge...

Hemsky's always been a scoring chance catalyst. We can rag on him for his lack of goal scoring or seemingly indifferent play, but he can drive the offense. One of the few on the team who can do that consistently.

I think he scored yesterday. Set a record for most shots in a game the other day. By all accounts he's doing well.

The thing is he is apart of that problem. If he did it consistently this team probably has more wins and at the very least is a better team to watch.

The thing I like is he is doing a lot more with this oppurtunity than Omark was.

Prv is actually working on his game and doing what his NHL coaches have asked for him most of the year.

Sure Omark went down and produced, but that wasn't what the coaches were looking for.
