Might have that in other guys in the system, might be able to sign that. Hardest thing to sign in the NHL or trade for is a number one center. The great teams have two. The Oilers have a chance to get that.

I'm not an oilers fan so I don't know but aren't Eberle and Hopkins center? There would be 2 good ones right there. To me looking from a far looks like a #1 goalie would be just as hard to trade for as a #1 center.

What an idiotic question. Guess I'm not surprised that it's coming from an Oilers fan #loser

Incredibly torn on who to pick and who to get rid of. Having a top 6 center with size would be great but Gagner is one of the few heart and soul guys on the team and is only 22, also do we really want our two top centers next seaosn to be a rookie and a sophomore? I like the idea of drafting Forsberg and maybe try and trade down a couple spots if possible too.

Better to happen sooner, rather then later. lol I dont know what the Oilers will do. I just hope to have a better team next year and for years after that.

Hopkins is a center, Ederle is a right winger.

I agree, but the D in the system is at least 2 years from making any impact. I would be happy with drafting Murray or one of the big 3 centers (Stu's pick) and trading our 2nd and Hemsky or Omark + for a top 4 Dman

Goalies are the hardest to predict. Drafting signing trading for, they can have one good year they you get them and they suck. I just hope we get lucky and have one in the system or find one under a box.

Murray might be 2 years away too. He didnt play much this year, and shutting down guys in Jr is good, but NHL a whole new level. Im not saying his bad, but he might take time. In the end if we get him, good he will help, but getting another number one center can too. Might be able to help sooner rather then later.

I know how you feel, sometimes I think it has to be Murray, others it is a forward, but which one. If it isn't Murray any of the 3 centers could probably be shifted to wing and keep Gagner. Also I would be happy to trade the pick for a legit top 2 Dman. So many choices, I just wish we were talking about playoff matchups

Murray probably wouldn't make an impact (maybe not even the team) next year but would give the oilers the most impressive D prospect pool in the league by far and we would be set for a while on the back end as well as give us some trade leverage. However the draft goes, it will only help the team in the long run, but it is getting real close to making something happen for the present.

I know it's been said a million times, but due to school, and having to retain huge amounts of unnecessary bullsh1t in my head I've forgotten... What's the deal with Klefbom? Will he be in the A this year or is he staying in Sweden for another year?

It's amusing to read the word "unethical" mentioned in the same discussion as professional sports. Keep in mind the two teams playing in the cup finals last year were the Canucks and Bruins...two biggest cheap shot, dirty teams in hockey.

Winning and ethics are separate topics.

- Maxbone

Any team that wins is classified as cheap, jealousy looks good on no one Richard. Your suggesting your team throws games compromising the entire league no wonder the sport is hardly thought of as a major sport in the states, keep it classy you jealous fool.

As far as I know he is playing one more year in Sweden, but who knows. I just watched the oilchange episode with him again and he seems eager to get to the NHL and that was filmed in Dec.

Edit: Unless he goes to play for Salavat Yulaev Ufa as they picked him 20th in the KHL draft

Thank you sir... I have a really good feeling about Klefbom. I think he'll end up Klef-bombing the (frank) out of the opposition.

Canucks aren't dirty or cheap shot artists. Just whiny. Good try Cloutier.

Hockey news has him ranked around 10th for prospects and the Oilers ranked 1st. They are really high on him and Musil

Pfft. Who needs them when we got schultz..

2011-2012 Wild 62 1 2 3 -10
2011-2012 Oilers 7 0 4 4 1

If he would have been with us the whole year he would have been on pace for more pts than weber and suter...

I'm not serious..But schultz has looked pretty decent and is contributing alittle on the scoresheet.

Weber AND Suter to the oil!!

Defense!

Sure you guys have some decent D prospects but you need that top pairing defenseman. You have a good offensive core to build around, add some d to it. poop it's nice getting the flashy and cool pick in Grigergenko but thats not needed nearly as much. Don't kid yourself in thinking it's so important to have two 1st line centers. Stupid. Depth all around wins cups.

Stupid. The thing those teams have is depth all around. Gagner is a fine second line center.

How bout some other elite teams like the Rangers, Bruins, Predators. Great defense and goaltending.

Agreed.

While getting another top talent forward is sexy and all that it is time to focus on the team's weakest point...the back end.

I have heard that Edm has been said to have one of the best defensive prospect pool in the NHL. That is nice to hear. There is depth in the system, and talented depth at that, but from my understanding these are still mostly 3-4 guys with higher potential.

I am hoping for Murray if they stay @2nd...I hope for Reinhart if they trade down a handful of spots in a trade.
