If Burke has his eyes set on one of the two Russians, he should be able to accompolish the feat no probs......
Leafs will end up 3rd from the bottom.
Edmonton, is more than likely going to be drafting a defensemen. To entice Edmonton to do so, they can swap picks with the Oilers with the Leafs throwing in something
I personally don't think its necessary. As I prefer Galenychuck over the two Russians
Nails, already has had two concussions now, and his style of play is going to lead to mush brain
Gringo, to me, is not an upgrade over Galenychuck and he seems to light it up against the lighter teams of the league. - banedlolol
that and Nail is going to miss the last 3 games of the season.. wonder how that will effect he draft? |

i dont know why so many people dont like that contract.. it makes absolutely perfect sense.. 50-60 point centre in his prime years is worth around 4 -5 million.
then take one look at the FA centres this year and it inflates his worth even more
when considering all factors.. 5.5million for 5 years is a good contract. - Dozzer
you dont need to tell me buddy!
500g overpayment for someone who gives 110% every night, im ok with it. |

Disagree with many....
Keep Reimer, move Gus.
With Carlyle as the coach, keep Phaneuf and Schenn
With Carlyle as the coach you will want Crabb, Steckel is a decent 4th line center. - noename09
Schenn has looked like he's starting to play with a bit more confidence under Carlyle. Players of his style need structure in their game. I really don't see how Gunnarsson is underrated in this league. Have we really seen anyone in the last decade whiff on as many one-timers as he has? That weak attempt at a breakout pass last night was just awful, and symptomatic of a player who generally lacks aggression of any kind. |

Mr. Whatsyourname
How can you want Reimer?? He offers a huge target for the shooters..... upstairs top left
Phaneuf, as I said, I am greatly disappointed in his on ice leadership........ besides, for what he brings........ he is grossly overpaid. Schenn is a 3rd pairing defensemen....... and his contract price, he is grossly overpaid as well.

He plays like Hall. Great speed and skill, but has a tendency to put his head down when skating with the puck. He'll throw some nice hits, but he'll definitely get leveled more. |

Yea...im not sure how I feel about Phaneuf either...however hes still young, and the team has been sucking as a whole, so ill give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being. - noename09
I'm not sold on Phaneuf as a captain either but he is one of the leaders whether we like it or not. That being said, I don't believe his captaincy has anything to do with the team's collapse.
Simply put, they need a pure #1 goalie. There are teams with worst offensive numbers way ahead of them in the standings so I think the goalie situation is a much bigger concern than the #1 center situation.

may I add that you're not gonna win many scoring at a pace of 0.67 goals per game (last three)

Been watching the Leafs for over 40 years now.
Never have I witnessed a Leaf team play this bad for such a long period of time. Yes there have been teams that have been bad.......... just never for this long of a periodOf all the changes that need to occur in the off season, there is one that should also happen
Dion Phaneuf is not a captain
I see no passion from him either on the bench or on the ice
He has been invisible in terms of on ice leadership
Massive fail
- banedlolol
Are you blocking out the 1987-1988 Season? Because that team had 3 losing streaks all after January 1st. 6, 6, and 8 games.
Oh and I agree Phaneuf needs to be stripped of the C, He is showing absolutely no heart on the ice. |

Has Nail been officially diagnosed with any type of injury?
I would think concussion would throw some doubt out there but if it is something like a shoulder or neck injury then probably no effect on the draft position.

They still say Upper Body, but he got it full on high speed in the head, not looking good. At least on the bright side teams get to see how Galchenyuk does without Yakupov for at least a little while. |

the way I see it...
Reimer is still young and very inexperienced. Hes had his confidence shot this year and his concussion didnt exactly help. Hes still able to be molded down the road...Gus, hes 28 and we've seen what he can/cant do. His days are done and is a little too late to try and mold. We get a solid goalie in the summer and slowly allow Reimer to improve, hoping he either becomes the number one guy in a year/two, or a great backup.
Phaneuf, as I said I agree...hes been one of worst defenders this year and although we dont hear him in the room or on the ice, he dosnt "seemingly" appear to be doing a great job to movitivate his group. Although, I feel as though its a tough job when your coach is always throwing guys under the bus, your team is missing a few key components and you have a young team like the Leafs do. Im giving him a pass this year by default, because the team sucks too much...and also hes still young as a captain/defender.
Schenn should start to blossom within the next year/two...and especially with a coach like Carlyle. We should really keep him unless we can move him for an upgrade somewhere else. |

I don't think they'd announce it as a concussion right now, for fear of screwing up the kids draft value. He sure looked like he got his bell rung good |

Thomas Kaberle when he actually Shot and Bryan McCabe (at least when he was on the Leafs) and if missing the net counts Dion Phaneuf. |

I just heard briefgly on AM980 this morning that he is expected to miss the last 3 games of the regular season.. they didnt mention the playoffs at all
So it could be more of a precautionary thing.. they have no need to play him if he is nursing some simple bumps and bruises. |
