I think it's a pretty realistic concern that Burke trades our potential lotto pick for Nash...

Nooooo ...but maybe for Johansen

And Reimer wins.

We need to ship him and his horrible contract out of town.

I wonder when Burke said he had 1st round pick offers for Grabo, Schenn, Kulemin and MacArthur which teams were involved?

With all the teams so tightly packed in the standings, if we made all those trades we could have gotten lucky and maybe gotten a few top ten picks.

Im just wondering if there is anyone of this ilk on the Marlies?
- MTL1

Ehhhhhh, not really, possibly McKegg, Frattin (on Leafs roster right now), Colborne or Ross, but I have a tough time seeing any of those guys step up in the next 2 years as a legit scoring threat that's exciting to watch and pumps out top 3-like numbers.

Possibly Colborne and McKegg could be top 3 forwards down the road, but it would be quite a long shot and I honestly don't see it happening....of course I would love to be wrong about this.

I say bury Monster and Reimer in the AHL so they can't go to another team and become All-Star goalies.

Bob Elliott just called Ottawa to say hi!

For sure...and Burke's ridiculous plan of adding players that other teams are willing to let go of is clearly not working.

But adding a young, top prospect who just wants to bust his butt to make an impression can become infectious...and then you have a chance to start changing the attitude that sits in the air of the change room.

Troll alert ...I'm about to suggest something positive.

I like the energy and work ethic Ashton has brought so far.

What's the term on this - 5 years? Otherwise you'll always say 'he hasn't had a proper chance yet'.

Barring injury I will say at 33 years of age, it has been decided.

But aren't you a little worried they are grooming him for a 3rd or 4th line role.

I'd rather see him nail down a 35 goal season in the AHL and then bring him up.

I have more faith in Reimer to be able to turn things around as a backup for next year than Gus. Because Gus will do just what he does best....save 5 hard shots in a row then moments later let in a softy when the period is about to end.

Then hell play solid for 3 games, then sheit the bed for 8. I love rollercoasters and will pay to ride them over and over, but Im getting sick of the goalie rollercoaster ride.

Doubt the teams offering for them were in the top 10. Most likely were all playoff bound teams, and we were probably looking at picks between 15-30

SO basically, would you have traded Kuli, Grabo, Mac, or Reimer for Biggs?

I'm sure he'll be back in the A next year. At this point, it's nothing more than a great way to show him what he needs if he wants to be a top 6 forward in this league.

Colborne may be a 2nd line center....most likely a good 3rd liner.

I gotta say that power play goal Florida scored over Reimer's glove hand, you could have parked a car in the space he had available over there.

But no problem, it was Gunnar's fault for not clearing the puck.

For sure ...I doubt he cracks the lineup next year. He works his tail off though so give him the reward of a few NHL paychecks rather then Kadri.

Although I'm not sure if he has the game to be a top line guy. Maybe the 3rd line is exactly where he projects? ...not sure. But a year in the A won't hurt his development.

I hear ya...but hes still an unproven, inexperienced goalie, whos 23 and has a lot to learn. Ive hated Gus since his stick smashing days.
