Is that correct - first St. Louis loss in the 37 games they've score 3+ goals?

Couple notes -

It's my turn to sing the praises of Oduya and give Stanbow a small pat on the ass. He's been great. Responsible with the puck, reliable in our own end, and patient. It's calming to watch him handle the because he slows the game and makes smart plays. Not to make Keith the catalyst - but that is something he hasn't done. Inking Oduya would put a smile on my face.

Seabrook mentioned in the postgame that they have been heavily stressing the need to put pucks on net from the point - and today they did. I've been pulling my hair out all year at the reluctance the offensive system has shown to utilize shots from the point. It's so wonderful to see a hawks forward park their ass in front of the net and let Seabs drop bombs. It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

On that note, it's my personal belief that Keith will never hit the net again. Ever.

Nice post. Oduya is a GEM. Great job by Bowman and especially the scouts who probably analyzed everything about this guy leading up to the deadline.

I wish EVERY Hawks d-man was as classy and smart as this guy. Sure, he'll make a mistake here and there. WHO DOESN'T ? But he is ULTRA RESPONSIBLE.

Just imagine where that 29 would have gone if not for Oduya. Makes me wince.

Oduya may indeed be as good as you say, but SB lucked into him if he did...

I said it the other night...Oduya wouldn't have made my shortlist at the deadline and i was not overly impressed when the news of his acquisition broke. BUT, he was on the Hawks radar and that's why i'm here and the hockey people are where they are.

If we're going to destroy SB for Brunette, Montador, etc., not to mention Ladd, Byfuglien, etc., you have to give him credit for the good ones.

LA is up 3-1 if they hold on they will have 78 points. That would leave the 8 spot all with 78 points being

Cal
LA

Agreed 100 percent but that will never fly around here. The hatred for Stan sometimes is palpable.

Flames beat the Sharks 3-2 in OT. If Kings hold on to get 2 tonight, there will be 4 teams tied with 78 points for the 8th spot.

Crazzzyyyy finish ahead.

Bickell tried, this happened:

Chicago outplayed the Blues first period, St. Louis is fortunate to be winning right now. Blues had a few similar games early this year though, it does go both ways.

Well the reason I say that is because it was a last minute deal and Oduya was the only remotely pretty girl left without a dance partner. <- boy that was a strange and uncomfortable analogy.

But yes, I am impressed with him so far. I wonder though, what we said about Campoli around this time 12 months ago. prolly similiar things.

...Supports my theory that all we really needed was a live body to reduce the ice time of the top four and get us better play and fewer dumb and tired turnovers...

I' not saying the Hawks should, could, would, but I'm asking Hawks Nation if the Hawks should, could, would do the following:

1. Trade Keith plus a high prospect for:

Big bruising 4-5 d man plus a second line TRUE bangar

Then........

2. Offer Sheet Suter

??????????????

Just a thought, no panties in a bunch needed.

Gotta tell you guys...

I had to work tonight, so when I picked up this thread where I left off this afternoon, I had no idea what happened tonight except for the final score. I know I had the advantage of knowing how it ended, but it was pure joy reading the comments, and feeling the angst as they fell behind 3-1. Nothing beats the comedy of reading through the "real time, in game" comments. I didn't see or hear the game, but I know exactly how it played out. Play by play in the form of one liners. Classic. You guys kill me.

I guess there's no need for me to actually watch the game on my DVR now...All's well that ends well? Eh?

Saw Brouwer the other night here in DC against the Maple Leafs. He was doing a lot of the little things in the corners and hitting people. He also was flying all over the ice, working very hard. He is definitely a leader on a Caps team virtually devoid of it. He can be more fun to watch than Ovechkin sometimes (ok a bit of an overstatement, but when Ovi is not noticeable in a game, you really notice).

Wish Brouwer was still in Chicago. I will keep believing that until Danault hits the ice in Chicago...whenever that is.
