Does Capuano know you're allowed to change your goaltender? - UIF
How is nabby to blame on any goal? He got hung out to dry on all of them. First goal was a deflection. Second was a blown coverage, third goal I watched orlov skate to the net from my seat and fourth goal eaton and staios blew coverage. |

It would be nice if we got to face the teams in your division as many times as your team does. Oh, it would have been nice if we spent like a drunken Dan (frank)ing Snyder on July 1st, too. |

for God's sake, you people. The letter was written and printed weeks ago.
What do you think the marketing dept should write huh? Think they had a crystal ball a few weeks ago?
Every freakin team in the league sends out their renewal letters now -- yes -- even the OTHER ones that aren't making the playoffs and they too probablyl offer playoff tickets. - Dee Karl
gimme a break it doesn't take much to change it and don't even bother saying it does, a team in their situation should probably wait, if they thought they were in a good position a few weeks ago to send out what they did then they are even clueless then I thought |

It's tough to get a letter like that after a year like this Dee. From a season ticket holders perspective you watch a million different give aways all year long while u are sitting in your full price ticket. You watch them give away t-shirts, food vouchers, extra games to anyone who buys a 3 game pack.. or a 5 game pack. You sit there on a random Tuesday night with 2000 islander fans and 3000 Habs or flyers fans knowing you paid more for your ticket then they did no stubhubb. then when decisions are made like Rolston, Wallace, Pandolfo, Mottau, and Reasoner playing time instead of the guys the fans love like Haley, Gillies and Ulstrom, etc. .. u get very angry. Then when the team is struggling and in last few spots in the league for the 5th year in a row... u read something like that.. right after Garth said in an interview we are not trading PA and Nabby b/c we still can make the playoffs.... in reality what he means is.. That would admit how terrible a job we did to those poor idiots who bought season tickets. - niteislander

Your steadfast defense of the Isles is admirable, Dee. They could serve dog food to the fans at a game and you'd give us an impassioned post on why that's not a bad thing. - UIF

Hmmm... seems letter is dated March 9, 2012
Oooh crap or when daylight savings happened we skipped weeks instead of an hour
Yes and I'm sure the Habs sent a letter telling their fans how the playoff races are heating up and that they're right in the mix and that after a slow start Scott Gomez is starting to turn his season around after scoring on us after a year long goal drought |

Heard last night Isles management announced that ticket prices are going up next year, that's a really nice fu to the fans...more importantly how many of us will actually pay to see this farce. Cap has totally lost this team, in fact he never had this team...the entire thing is a mess from the owner all the way on down to the coaches behind the bench. It's time to make drastic moves, like starting with the coach...see ya. But wait, he's here on the cheap..nah he won't be fired...the price is right. |

I may have to move to Jersey for work reasons... The upside is I really can't justify buying season tickets to the Isles if I don't live here... and I will have to move out of this Political shthole they call Nassau County. |

This team is broken. Plain and simple. There are some good individual players but as a team, they suck. The Isles should have had six points in their last three games. Instead they have two. Even mediocre teams can hold three goal leads with 21 minutes to go at home.
This team has no push back. No ability to match an opponent's elevated level of play when an opponent starts playing with a sense of urgency. That's an indictment on the collective character (or lack thereof) on the team. Some guy on the Rangers said in an interview after Sunday's game that they knew it was only a matter of "when" not "if" they'd tie and beat the Isles that night. I bet the whole league feels that way. That's because unless the opponent mails it in against the Isles, no team is ever out of it aganst them.
BTW good timing by Cappy to call timeout AFTER Ovechkin tied the game. As if he wheels weren't falling off the wagon well before then. |

Ov's last goal he got 3 shots off... 3. How can anyone let one of the best goal scorers in hockey walk in and take 3 shots without putting him on his arse? I did not want them to win this game... I really didn't. I am in full "better pick" mode. It is still upsetting to watch though...
JT 69 points (giggity) in 70 games... one of the things I hoped for this year was him to score at least a point a game and MM to score 30 again. |

100% to blame? Of course not...but defend him all you want, an .857 save percentage ain't gonna get it done on most nights. As bad as Neuvirth looked in that game, he actually walked out of there with better numbers on the night than Nabby. And the win. And he made a couple of big saves in between the bad goals...two on Bailey come immediately to mind. Don't recall offhand Nabby robbing anyone last night. I remember him not being busy at all until the Washington goal parade started.
It's not like this was an anomaly for recent games either... his last 7 games, including last night, he's .857, .889, .750, a very respectable .941, .828, .912, and .826. His season sv% has gone from near-career highs down to .914 in that time.
I expect better from a guy we preemptively took off the market and who we're likely going to have to overpay to keep...if he stays. |

I didn't bother with yesterday's game as at this point it behooves us to lose, and I don't like sitting there hoping for a loss (cannot do it), but he should be fired just for the simplest of facts: He can't call timeouts. A peewee coach, hell, even the people who post here all know when a TO should be called and our joke of a coach doesn't know.
How many season tickets will they sell? Over/under, 6,000? If it weren't for Tavares, it would be frightening to think how low that number would be. |
