That goal will go down in history for sure. You'll see that on every highlight reel tomorrow.

for God's sake, you people. The letter was written and printed weeks ago.
What do you think the marketing dept should write huh? Think they had a crystal ball a few weeks ago?
Every freakin team in the league sends out their renewal letters now -- yes -- even the OTHER ones that aren't making the playoffs and they too probablyl offer playoff tickets.

They may not have had a crystal ball but they certainly had a backspace button.
I'm not a season ticket holder but I'd sure find it, at the least, slightly insulting to my intelligence. Anyone with a mostly functioning brain realizes the Islanders are out of it, and to have the team not only tell you that they're still in it, but use that blatant falsity as a selling point for a significant financial investment...is just ridiculous.
We all know they're not going to send the letter with an opening line to the tune of "Hey we know the seasons cooked, but..." But there are other ways to positively word it that are significantly less absurd. |

I never said anything about him as a person. I could care less what he is like off the rink. He is trash on it, however. He can't fight, he turtles and never takes on anyone remotely bigger than him. He can't play defense, so he can't kill penalties. He isn't offensively better than anyone on either of our PP units, so he won't be there either. He fits in nowhere, he has no value.
Pandolfo can play defense, Reasoner is our best faceoff guy. Are either of them good? Hell no, but they at least bring something to the table. Avery brings nothing. - eichiefs9
That is why the haley thing is so funny.. he thought he had a patsie.. and got his arse beat. |

It's tough to get a letter like that after a year like this Dee. From a season ticket holders perspective you watch a million different give aways all year long while u are sitting in your full price ticket. You watch them give away t-shirts, food vouchers, extra games to anyone who buys a 3 game pack.. or a 5 game pack. You sit there on a random Tuesday night with 2000 islander fans and 3000 Habs or flyers fans knowing you paid more for your ticket then they did no stubhubb. then when decisions are made like Rolston, Wallace, Pandolfo, Mottau, and Reasoner playing time instead of the guys the fans love like Haley, Gillies and Ulstrom, etc. .. u get very angry. Then when the team is struggling and in last few spots in the league for the 5th year in a row... u read something like that.. right after Garth said in an interview we are not trading PA and Nabby b/c we still can make the playoffs.... in reality what he means is.. That would admit how terrible a job we did to those poor idiots who bought season tickets. |

Perfect chance for Isles fans to take a stand and tell Wang where he can go. Why should Fans support this guy? |

Keep going.. i am looking at the letter.. ready for this:
The playoff races are heating up across the league and the Islanders are right in the mix. Night in and Night out, our team is battling to readh the Stanley cup playoffs.
truly amazing. - niteislander
More like night in and night out are players are quiting and doing everything they can to avoid contact and blow late leads. |

The beauty is, as I haven't seen it, it probably means that they sent that letter to my old address, after I've asked them to change it like 50 times.....I'll get it after the playoffs are over.... That's what I call a professional operation....maybe they should contract to have the DMV on site.... |

Your steadfast defense of the Isles is admirable, Dee. They could serve dog food to the fans at a game and you'd give us an impassioned post on why that's not a bad thing. |
