Keep going.. i am looking at the letter.. ready for this:
The playoff races are heating up across the league and the Islanders are right in the mix. Night in and Night out, our team is battling to readh the Stanley cup playoffs.

Goals and points are hardly the only indicator of a good player, especially when it comes to fourth line/borderline-AHL players. Avery flat out sucks and you'll see that when no other team on earth tries to pick him up. - eichiefs9
hey i dont lie the guy as a person but he can play. he is a jerk but has more skill then our fourth line. avery brings something to the game more then other people do he likes to compete rather have him then jay and the other guys we signed this year. for a tough guy he is one of the most skilled tough guys out there |

It's more believable when you add this.....
Herro My Fellro Isrander fans... The playoff races are heating up across the league and the Isranders are right in the mix. Night in and Night out, our team is battling to reach the Stanley cup playoffs. Don't forget if we score 3 goals its free Mu Shu with ticket stub |

You think that management should be basing its decisions on what the fanbase wants? That Haley was sent down to Bridgeport because management was oblivious to what the fanbase wanted? You don't think it had anything to do with his play? Just that the "management" was oblivious?
If anything, a team that can barely scrape together 11K fans per night in attendance would do anything in its power to appease its fanbase. Teams shouldn't be making personnel decisions based on what the fans want. Personnel decisions should be based on what wins hockey games. For all the love Haley gets on these boards, its not as if he's a star in waiting. The guy has been in the minors for years. Nobody else offered him a contract when his deal with the Isles expired last summer. I think he deserves a shot on the fourt line over a guy like Wallace, but its not as if his play is so stellar that its a no-brainer to put him on the team. - Jethro09

I never said anything about him as a person. I could care less what he is like off the rink. He is trash on it, however. He can't fight, he turtles and never takes on anyone remotely bigger than him. He can't play defense, so he can't kill penalties. He isn't offensively better than anyone on either of our PP units, so he won't be there either. He fits in nowhere, he has no value.
Pandolfo can play defense, Reasoner is our best faceoff guy. Are either of them good? Hell no, but they at least bring something to the table. Avery brings nothing. |

Avery told Bravo TV (insert laugh track) he is retiring & Larry Brooks just confirmed it...he has way too big an ego to play out his golden years in the AHL. He has ceased being effective for some time now anyway. - B2B76

Our defensive play could absolutely get worse. By adding Sean Avery to our fourth line. |

Didn't he retire today?
Either way no, you already have a better Avery in Haley imo. |
