The only bargaining chip the Isles have for ZP is that ZP and Okposo best friends. Other than that, why would he want to play for us?
- NewYawkIslandez

money talks...throw money at the guy...same as 2 top Dman...anything short of that and we have another failure of year coming up.

and those 2 dman better have a mean streak to them....hockey isnt a game for pussies. as far as im concerned they ALL (minus martin and hamonic) are pussies

Heatley has a NMC and that ego would NEVER say yes to this team, that is unless Wang gives him a 10 or 15 year extension

This team probably has better odds at signing Parise or trading for Nash than trading for Heatley

Isles best shot would try to work out a deal for Dustin Brown if he really is or would be available.... since after all this is the type of player KO should've become

- Killer' Carlson

I like Brown...he would definitely fit in with the Islanders...

Agreed...but some of Bettman's rule changes have changed how the game is played.

In regard to the 2 dmen...I think one of them is to go after Komiserak from Toronto. He does have a mean streak in him...

Because Heatley is signed to a contract and would have no choice but to report or hold out and pout. Parise is a UFA and would have to agree to come to the Isles and that's not likely to happen. No prominent UFA has signed with the Islanders since Snow has become GM.

Sabres fans say he is "best friends" with Stafford. In fact, the three of them train together in the offseason. There's a fourth one in the group with them too.

Agreed...but at $ 8.5 milion/per Parise might be interested...remember his dad played for the Islanders...
- kear20

If you think his dad playing for this team when it was relevant, had a real GM, and actually cared about winning is going to have any impact on him signing here you should prob rethink thAt notion...

Guys wake up already! No free agents are signing here. Snow will throw money at one free agent like he did with Ehroff and when they deny he will say well I tried and then sign his buddies again. This has been the same story eery year. Next year is going to be a disaster especially if the bionic man is in the net

If there is a God he will come back this year and get hurt again maybe then just maybe we will realize he is useless and will destroy this team all together when he comes back. If he does come back and is like amazing well then I think I need to do something

I'm hoping for something like a rare fly fishing accident in the offseason that will make him retire since it seems nothing that happens on the ice can get him to

To Wang and Snow:

Hi this is Kasperrko Wang we met at Dunkin Donuts and as a fellow fan I have to plead with you something. Please for all that is good do a favor to your fanbase to yourself and to all of the NHL world please I am begging you know pleading here do not I repeat do not have that ass clown DP with this team next year. This team has already embarassed itself this year with there lack of heart and determination thanks to that amazing coach you and Snow hired this summer. We are already embarassed by those asesome free agent you signed in Rolston, Pandolfo, Staios , and Reasoner. Already embarassed by the tattoo parlor you put in,. Already embarassed about the letter you sent in regards to the playoff picture. So please for next year start new. DP sucks and when I saw him practicing yesterday I threw up thinking he is going to be here next year and the years to come. So please I am begging once again to keep him away and maybe float him down a river. If DP is our goalie next year I am sorry this is one fan who is not goign to watch this team be a bottome 5 team again. In fact we will be guranteed for the number one pick if he is. Again please heed the warning and have a great day.

A troubled Islander fan,

Kasperrko

A little off-topic, but if these (frank)ing morons get locked out or go on strike, it would have to go down as one of the most epically terrible decisions in the history of sports. Didn't these idiots (both sides of the CBA) learn anything from the last debacle?

I know things are different in Canada, but if there is some kind of work stoppage, this sport will not survive it. Hockey is already considered a niche sport in the US. Below the ranks of Nascar, golf, soccer and poker....these players and owners can't allow it to happen.

I don't think they'll be a work stoppage, and if there is one, it will only be a short one. The players and owners have nothing to gripe about. The current system works well for both sides. The salary floor and cap go up every year. The league is making more money every year. The players are still getting whopping contracts. They may haggle a bit over percentages of revenue to be split, but i don't think they'll have any major issues to hammer out, unlike last time when the salary cap and floor were first introduced.

My guess is that the season will start on time.

But they will try to spin how "Its in the best interest of the game itself that we have a stoppage." maybe they can get Wang & Snow to write it up for the league.
