I truly believe homer not bringing in another goalie at the deadline had a huge part. That showed bryz that they still believe in him , and have his back through the good and the bad. If we brought in a nabby or somebody at deadline his confidence would have been s#$t and would have never "came out of the woods". - EastBeast18
Honestly, I think that 99% of that bring another goalie in at the TDL was because they were shopping Bobrovsky or at least listening intently to offers for him. |

I never said anything about Bryz struggling in the playoffs, I never did. The other poster implied that I was talking about Bryzgalov's success with PHX when I never meant for it to be interpreted that way. - _Zippy_
My mistake then. |

bryz has earned it. I've watched this team since the parent/favell days so I've scene my share of goalies come and go. all of these guys have off nights, but bryz's track record and his ability to put this type of show on in a flyers uni has afforded him slack.
where you're concerned, I'd buy the first drink...prob the first two - isaiah520

I was saying that as literal as can be. I don't troll. Purely talking hockey, all I said was that you hope this Bryz shows up for the playoffs. That's it. Just because I said something about the Flyers doesn't mean I meant for it to be implying something against Bryz. - _Zippy_
Look I don't know what to tell you other than you are stating the obvious then and you're comments would be better welcomed if not on the heels of a victory. |

When Kubina and Meszaros are back, hopefully soon, Lilja will be the spare part.
He has played solidly of late, though - Jsaquella
Ive killed lilja here, but like everyone tonite, he played well. |

Yea I think you're right. Also it would have been way too early to give up on him. I think they saw that the defensive breakdowns in front of him were too much and if he got help like he had in Phoenix, success would be achievable. It's not like he was terrible all year. I think at the deadline his performance really was a glass half full half empty type of deal. |

Lilja has been nothing but solid in his role all Season. Quality signing by Holmgren in choosing him for the veteran 7th spot. |

I'm dead serious. I think that they were looking at making a move in combination with Bob being traded. |

Exactly. He is a reserve to fill in for injuries and has done a solid job this year. |

You were trying to rain on the parade of the W tonight. Don't deny it. They Hartnell/Bryz comments are top notch trollage.
EDIT: Upon further review- I might be thinkin about the other dude. Whatever though- just messin around in the end. Hell- I just wanted an excuse to post that ^^^^^^ - Giroux_Is_God
I was the more calm one, nyy is the one that likes to say poop to get under the peoples skin. I was just more trying to talk, I was in on the Hartnell stuff, but to a lesser extent, and not as verbally insulting, for lack of better words.

Quick question guys. If Bryzgalov finishes out the season at or below his career averages, gets on a roll and takes us deep in the playoffs, is this a type of season we should be accepting for the remainder of his tenure here? I'm rather mixed about it and would like to hear some of your opinions. |

There is noway they were trying to trade Bryz imo. The guy played half a season and had a NMC. I dont see them trying to get rid of him that fast. Bob on the other hand might have been offered/talked about.
Miss read. Thought you said Ilya. |

Are you asking if he becomes a goalie version of Briere? |

Gotcha...yeah, no way they were shopping Bryz.
Not even sure they were really shopping Bob. I think they had their ears open and listened to every offer that came in. |

Assuming Bryz keeps playing like he is, any chance you think the Flyers would consider moving Bob for anything? Maybe picks and a prospect? It would free up some space but then not exactly sure who the flyers backup would be. Just playing with my imagination |

Makes sense. I think the Flyers may move Bob in the summer for the right price. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Bob was moved during the summer at all. I'd still want a decent return, because I still think he has a bright future. |

Okay use my words against me on Briere but whatevs (how's that for using words ) anyway yea I guess if he becomes a goalie version of Briere, what's your take then? For the record up until now I thought Briere has been a success just I wish he carried the team throughout the year more. My criticism and suggesting that if amnesty becomes a reality to use it on him is due to the possibility he is not the player he was 2-3 years ago. |

The real question is if Bryzgalov posts a shutout in every game for the rest of the regular season does he win the Vezina? |
