bryz is a guy who should be .920 sv % goalie and it's a pleasure to watch such excellence on display. he went from a guy who looked like he forgot how to play the position to a vezina trophy candidate. I don't know why, nor do I care as long as he continues to look huMONgous big in net - isaiah520
I say with all the criticism he got... He stuck it out worked his ass off and made believers out of all of us. Most guys would have peaked it up after the firestorm he was in....goes to show he has a stronger character than we are all led to believe by the media |

I know that, but you find a way to pair two of them up with each other and let one run with it.
For example, give Harding 2.5 million and Gustavsson 2.5 million, whichever plays better takes the spot. - _Zippy_

No. I am just saying, everyone is tooting his horn right now, it really doesn't matter whether he shows up now, whether he shows up in the playoffs is a different story.
Wasn't implying anything, the statement was meant to be read as it was written. - _Zippy_
To be fair, Martin Brodeur has won two playoff series since Stevens, Daneyko and Niedermayer left the Devils |

I'll give you this Isaih you were a critic all along but did insist on wanting to see him do good so I have no beef whatsoever with what you said (not like anyone needs my approval). I'm just worried that he'll have a bad game down the line and all the nonsense will start again. I personally believe the only two things that have made this result a reality are the play in front of him and him beating his own personal demons to not have games like he did against the Pens in the last outing. All that said. I really have loved all you guys in here and the great conversation has gotten my mind of some big stuff that matters a lot more than hockey! Thank you all for making me feel welcome and treating me as one of the guys! |

They have Lehner and Anderson, don't know if they really need him. They might have gotten him for warranty for Anderson's injury.
There's a pretty decent crop of guys you can get for 2/3 years.
Gustavsson, Harding, Bishop, Vokoun, Nabokov. Maybe Montoya, Mason, Nittymaki, Biron.
The first five are all pretty good options IMO. - _Zippy_
Your joking right? Hes projected to be better then at least half of that list. Several scouts listed him as "NHL ready" as in now..not 3 years from now. I know they have anderson, but i dont see them letting him go. My guess lehner will be forever stuck in ahl. |

Bryzgalov has really endeared me to him this year. I just love how he battled through the adversity. Many an athlete would have just packed it in, let themselves be sidelined with injury whatever. I don't know what perceptions people have about Bryz but to me he is a fighter. By that I mean a guy that can get knocked down pick themself up and come right back to win the fight! By gosh he has done just that right in front of us! Man I hope and feel this team will do something special this spring! |

Did I ever say the Devils post-season success was wonderful? No.
The Devils haven't been anything since those days, they had an aging team, most of which had won already, and it seemed like they had no urgency and no desire in the playoffs. |

Per Dave Isaac, Brandon Manning was sent down because he was an emergency call up. With Timonen back, if they kept him, he would count against the 4 call ups rule. |

and you don't write stuff like that without implications. Look I don't know you from a can of paint but I see your intention. Just stop while you're ahead. Like I said earlier and I'll say again. These two teams are close in talent level. Find a replacement for Marty and you guys can easily be a dynasty again. I respected and still wish for the devils to be in another conference so I could make them my second team. Otherwise all this the goalie that shows up in the playoffs etc. could be said for any goalie. Did Vezina Miller show up in last year's playoffs? No but would I take him on my team? in a heartbeat! - JoeRussomanno
I was saying that as literal as can be. I don't troll. Purely talking hockey, all I said was that you hope this Bryz shows up for the playoffs. That's it. Just because I said something about the Flyers doesn't mean I meant for it to be implying something against Bryz. |

After facing all that and coming on top now and I don't mean 2 or three games since the all star break he's been playing awesome. I'm glad lavy stopped the bobgalov platoon and just let the guy play |

bryz has earned it. I've watched this team since the parent/favell days so I've scene my share of goalies come and go. all of these guys have off nights, but bryz's track record and his ability to put this type of show on in a flyers uni has afforded him slack.
where you're concerned, I'd buy the first drink...prob the first two |

Just pointing out that any goalie can struggle in the playoffs. With Anaheim, Bryzgalov had great playoff numbers. In Phoenix, he had to face Detroit in back to back years.

I truly believe homer not bringing in another goalie at the deadline had a huge part. That showed bryz that they still believe in him , and have his back through the good and the bad. If we brought in a nabby or somebody at deadline his confidence would have been s#$t and would have never "came out of the woods". |

Some people really don't know what a troll is nowadays. Any other fan on another blog is not a troll.
It's a troll if I came in here saying Bryzgalov blows, Jagr is old, Giroux sucks defensively, no, I didn't do that. Might I have said some negative things (Hartnell) about the Flyers, sure, but that doesn't mean I was trolling. |

When Kubina and Meszaros are back, hopefully soon, Lilja will be the spare part.
He has played solidly of late, though |

I never said anything about Bryz struggling in the playoffs, I never did. The other poster implied that I was talking about Bryzgalov's success with PHX when I never meant for it to be interpreted that way. |
