I missed the game...fill me in please?

Was Bryz as solid as he has been or was he not really tested that much?

How did Briere do?

Sounds like Cooter had a solid game. Thoughts??

Overall play on O and D??

Sounds like a solid effort by the boys, but I just want some other opinions

bryz was actually pretty terrible, tbh

Might not be such boneheaded at times.

I don't know if you remember this, put the hit he put on Larsson prior to Salvador leveling him at open ice and getting a penalty. Larsson had clearly hit the puck around and was watching the puck and he was in the cornerboards. Hartnell comes from behind and hits him.

That is the types of plays he does where I just get pissed off. I say to myself does he really need to do that, was that hit so necessary. Not even in the play the puck was heading up the other side of the ice, its plays like that where I am like come on now....

It's what he does. You might just have to live with it

I find this to be quite frankly, ridiculous. It's Hockey. You hit defenseman after they move the puck. It wears them down, it might cause them to hurry the next time, and make an error. Was there a late hit called there, or a penalty for interference? Or do you just not like your players getting hit? That's how the game is played. There is absolutely nothing dirty about that.

I don't know. I'm all for him hitting players, getting physical, trying to park his ass in front of the net, but there's times like I said, where he makes plays where he does it just to be a douchebag. I guess that's the way he plays, but that's also why fans of other teams hate him so much.

He's no where near like Matt Cooke level where he's going to try to knee-on-knee someone or headshot someone, like I said, it's the petty poop that he does. He is like one of the Hansen brothers.

So, anytime there is a winning streak and a losing streak for a team means the goalie is streaky? Do you see that he has a .973 sv % in a loss on 12-4-10, a .944 on 10-10-09 also a loss and so on?

? Looks normal to me except for the part of this season where he was dreadful. What's your point here exactly?
- Richieattack18

I guess it's that sometimes he lets in more than 2 goals a game, which is apparently really different than every other goalie. Also, the analysis brilliantly does not take into account how well/poopty the rest of the team is playing during his "inconsistent" stretches.

Larsson had his back turned to him and was in a dangerous position. If the it was chest to chest where Hartnell delivered it. That's fine, good play, but Hartnell hit him in his back and Larsson was pretty darn close to the boards.

Hartnall has a pretty big bullseye on his back as far as the refs are concerned, as was evident with those goalie interference penalties tonight. If the hit was such a big deal, it'd have been called. Was it?

Bryz had some very good saves. He played the way you need him to play
Briere looked bad again (imo) but scored and I believe assisted on the second goal.
Cooter played terrific all around
There was much more offensive pressure then last time we play NJ, much better effort by the flyers offense. Defense was solid, allowing 17 shots, and keeping the devils to the outside.
You missed a great 60 minute effort game by everyone

Larsson protected himself. He didn't go face first into the boards like what could've happened.

It was behind the play, so no it was not called. Like his hit on Josefson before Poni went up to him, he boarded Josefson into the boards after he got rid of the puck. Not hard, but he still did it.

He drew a penalty both times, so I guess he is doing his job, but nevertheless, it's still little bullpoop like that that makes you shake your head.

I guess anybody looks inconsistent when you've had Brodeur in the net for the past half century. #spoiledmuch?

As someone else said, it's what he does. It's how he earns a paycheck. Every team has guys that do this stuff, Hartnall is more noticeable because he's on the ice a lot because he has 32 goals.

It was a legal hit. And a fundamental part of the game. You don't have a legitimate beef there.

I do wonder what the Devils have lined up in terms of successors. Do they have any noteworthy goaltender prospects?

We're talking about how players play hockey and then you bring up personal life, typical.
