I just want consistency. If the refs call a tight game for the first 50 minutes, it should continue the last ten minutes. I hate when a guy calls everything all night and then eats his whistle late.
Worse is the guys that DO let them play and avoid making calls, who decide to suddenly call a ticky tack call just for kicks.
A guy like Chris LEee calls everything and it's annoying, but you know going in he's calling it tight and always does. It's worse with a guy like Auger, Jackson or Peel, because what was a penalty in the first won't be in the second

Okay, I must admit I like this point of view better.

It's much easier on the guys playing, too.
If I knew that the refs were calling a tight game, it allowed me to adjust my game to stay out of the box. The guys that would let everything go, then call it when a guy stepped on my stick and fell pissed me off.
Also guys that communicate are great. I want a ref who will say knock it off or next time I'm making a call. |
