Hey, never thanked you for the offer of a single malt the other night. Not feasible in the least, but it's the thought...

- tangent_man

yeah, pretty much not feasible. but, if you're ever up here, the offer stands.

i'll make sure to drink most of the scotch before he gets there then. only thing left would be the kids' apple juice and some milk.

We haven't seen that Briere fist pump in along time! He was way off that 6 million dollar point per game mark long before he got that Hatty against Ottawa

I still love him though

horrible call. i cant stand when the ref 2ft away is staring at the play and decides it's not a penalty but the ref in center ice 100ft away can decide that it is even though didnt really see what happen. call made on seeing a guy fall

Did Tim Saunders just call Voracek "Zherdev" twice?

Did we just really get a penalty for a follow through on a shot?

High stick is a high stick, almost all are virtually accidental.

Like I keep saying I give up on the officials. They are like the weather, you just deal with it.

Wellwood is looking great for a rookie almost Couturier-like.

The rule book specifically states that a follow through on a shot is NOT supposed to be called a high stick.

I just thought a high stick was a high stick, if you hit the dude in the face, than it's still bringing your stick up high. In that case, almost every highstick is a follow through from a pass or shot, that makes no sense IMO.

Was thinking the same thing. Not sure how that's a penalty. Was a backhand shot, but still a shot. Bad call I think.

Missed the play, but they said he whiffed on the puck. Guess that justifies a reckless stick call.

It was a bad call. No two ways about it.

Remember this?

Follow through from Brodeur caught him in the face.

I never knew that, but usually they call high sticks regardless if they were follow through on shots. I just read the rule, but that doesn't make sense. Plus, if I am not mistaken, Grossman was firing the puck around the boards, therefore it's considered a pass and not a shot.

Nevertheless, if you follow through on a pass it is a high stick, but on a shot, it is not?
