Kirk Hamet was revolutionary. No one was as fast and technical as he was. You might find guys that can put down an awesome solo on trak, but will never be able to play it again live... Everything Kirk puts down, he can play it again... perfectly. Metallica is the best Live band ever, and they are still one of the best all time IMO.
Now does Kirk compair to Claptan or Hendrix... no. Townsend, and Van Halen maybe... But destroys anyone coming out today... - RooNosHockey
I prefer Lanny Cordola myself. |

I'm going to have to learn a thing or two about furniture in a hurry. Moving out on my own (shut up, I'm a late bloomer in a bad economy) rather soon and lack much in the way of good furniture. Now I know who to seek for advice around here. - BulliesPhan87
Ahh the good old days of curb couches and milk crate tables... Gotta love the first apartment... Though craigslist makes everything much easier these days.. |

I couldn't agree less, Kirk Hammett has always been plain and a tad sloppy. He's had his moments, but he wouldn't be a third understudy on my metal all star band. Many of Metallica's best early riffs were written with Mustaine, and I've always found their strength to be good rhythm. Also, Hammett doesn't hold a wet match to Eddie Van Halen.
I saw Metallica in '04. They were pretty good for old guys (you could hear Hetfield's voice was starting to go, but he performed well), but more recent showings by Judas Priest and Iron Maiden have put that '04 to utter shame. |

Best live band ever is highly subjective. For example, I strongly disagree with you and submit:

If you're in the Philadelphia area, you should try and get to Maiden's show in June. Alice Cooper's opening, it should be a hell of a concert. |

Three words: Eye Key Uh. - Flyskippy
Just starting out, good move. There are 3 levels of quality and pricing at Ikea. The lowest quality (particle board mostly) and lowest price. Middle range combo of particle board and hardwoods. High end, hardwoods. And other than a glass cabinet that we never could figure out how to put together, I've never had trouble with getting anything to fit together or with the durability of anything.
Tables and wooden chairs you can get at Good Will, Salvation Army, other thrift stores. But I wouldn't get upholstered furniture at a thrift store these days. Too much risk of bedbugs.
Be sure to try things out. Things that LOOK comfortable often aren't. Things that look rigid or stiff sometimes are built just right to give you the support your body craves. |

Little weasel. He never played a game of pick up football in his life. All he knows is numbers and salary cap. When it comes to making picks and free agents Banner and Roseman (sp) are clueless. |

Go cheap... www.craigslist.org Offer a quarter of what they are asking. Then use the money you saved on a 3D TV, Bluray player, PS3, and surround sound... GOD I WISH I WAS STILL SINGLE!!!!!! |
