Did Pleks even factor into Cole's goals? Pleks needs wingers, but not those two. Leave that line alone. And why in God's name is White on the 1st line? If Eller is being tried at wing, why not Plek's wing?

The team is obviously with Markov in the line-up, but I'm not sure about pairing him with Emelin. We need another experienced big right-handed D.

Our left-handed D are Markov, Gorges, Emelin, Kaberle and Campoli. Clearly, we are keeping Markov, Gorges and Emelin. Campoli will be done with us come April. I fear we will be stuck with Kaberle, though we should try to move him. I know some are arguing to play Emelin with Markov on his off side, but stats generally demonstrate this diminishes production. Thaty said, it would not shock me to see this pairing. This is a good group of D on our left side.

Our right-handed D at the moment are Subban, Weber and Diaz. Clearly, this is our weak side. Subban has to be a long-term lock up that hopefully the new GM will take care of quickly. Weber and Diaz are essentially the same player, and my inclination is probably to keep Diaz. We still need to sign a D for the right side in the summer.

So that leaves us with the following pairs.

Gorges-Subban
Markov-UFA/trade
Emelin-Diaz
Kaberle-Weber

I would love to see us pick up a big stay at home D for that right side with Markov. Not necessarily a superstar, but someone who will make the other team think twice about hitting Price, or for that matter, Markov. Cory Sarich comes to mind.

He ran on emotion for a stretch when first called up, then he dramatically cooled down.

Still, I like some aspects of his game.

He should make a very good 3rd liner.....

Not sure that's a good thing considering he's a former 1st round pick.

Something has to be done with the Diaz and Kaberle pairing... The top four are solid, but we need some grit from our 5-6 d-men until a guy like tinnordi is ready to make the jump. I don't mind Kaberle on the pp, but if Markov is back then he is expendable
- tourns

Ideally, Kaberle is gone in the off-season, but that will be easier said than done. I don't mind him as one of our bottom 3 defencemen. We still need a big guy with a RH shot to play with Markov.

he looks like he will be as advertised: a good second line center.

Third Star went to Halak, who allowed three goals in his three starts last week, yielding single scores to the Blackhawks, Ducks and Blue Jackets. He lowered his GAA to 1.82, good for second-best in the NHL.

Markov made Komi look really good... and earned him that ridiculous contract. I would actually consider that if they would take Kaberle from us.
