Is the 'Lights Out' experiment over?

Nope, but I think his nickname is fitting, it is a nice metaphor for his career.

haha does this mean youre not sold on fitzpatrick as the savior?
- stayinthefnnet

He is fine as a stop gap. Contrary to what it looks like on the surface, the Bills can get out of that deal with minimal damage if they dont want him anymore.

Well the Pens are doing the opposite of my suggestion of moving 87 down low on the PP, they are putting him on the point.

to me, the bills seem like between a 6 or maybe even 8 or 9 win team, and those types of middle range draft picks typically dont get you the big name draft quarterback. its one of those stuck in the middle of the pack type things, but they wont be bad enough to get the high pick necessary

I'll have to see in it action first to make judgement, but I share your skepticism.

For what it's worth, the "word" here is that the Redskins were interested in Manning but that the interest wasn't mutual. I think RGIII was the right way to go regardless.

As for the cap penalty, it seems harsh on the surface, but if two guys were likely to have disregarded warnings, etc, you would find no more likely candidates than Snyder and Jones (maybe Al Davis also, but I'm not sure he would have known what an uncapped year even meant at that point). As a Redskin fan, I feel that we've already been penalized enough having had to deal with that sack of poop Haynesworth for a couple of disastrous seasons.

i mean having sid on the ice at all is something positive, but i just feel that even if he isnt necessarily bad at it, it is severely under-utilizing his skill set. i guess theoretically he would be able to find the open man for the pass back there, but i think he would be able to feed malkin just as well, if not better, from down low. also his ability in close for tip ins and finding those small scoring areas is perhaps the best in the league. yeah, makes sense to put him as far away from the net as possible. perhaps they are doing it to spare him some contact that he would receive muscling down low?

i couldnt imagine that group giving up a short handed goal... although sid would be tenacious in his efforts to get back

thats really the only reason i could see doing this. if thats it, then as much as i dont like it, it may be for the best. but if thats not the motivation, then i definitely view this as getting too cute.

Absolutely a valid point, but I seriously hate that alignment if avoiding contact isn't the point.

That comment about Whitner really made me laugh....."best tackler of NFL receivers already in the end zone".... funny sh*t.

It happened almost every game. Top 10 pick in the draft and he couldnt even keep TE's out of the endzone.

Sid is with Cooke and Kennedy on a line. I think they will ease him into the lineup this latest comeback. Kennedy isnt the biggest but he will drop them for any of his teammates.

Robert Griffin, Heisman-winning QB from Baylor who is expected to be the 2nd pick in the NFL draft.

Well.... at least he was close enough to make a late tackle. Not like Brian Mcfadden who usually arrived just as the other team was congratulating the kicker for his extra point.

Getting those first rounders are so crucial to a team. You can have the rest of a draft year be a bust (not regularly of course), but the first rounder has to be a good NFL starter.

What if they took Justin Blackmon and said that all Grossman needs is a top flight receiver

If these are the starting lines on Thursday, I'm betting Bylsma starts shuffling them by the first TV timeout lol.

I know he was hurt, but TK really has been worthless this season. If this doesn't jump start him, I don't think anything will. I don't mind Cookie there though.

Kennedy will find his way. Concussion cob webs started to clear and then he gets the dreaded high ankle sprain.

I think it is BS. The year was uncapped and they should be allowed to spend however they wanted during that season. NFL is using awful judgement by punishing both teams.
- Gunner Staal

Its collusion, plain and simple. The NFL killed the players this last CBA. Killed them. The amount of money the league is making is sickening.

Practicing until Letang is cleared? Theres no way hes not on the top unit when healthy. He has become quite the PP decision maker along the blue line.
