Perhaps. Even the great James Neal struggles in the 2nd half of seasons with similar like numbers. Either way Hogdson has to get it going statistically. - Gunner Staal
I'm glad the team has been able to succeed in this weird pointless stretch for Hodgson. It has helped turn down the hype machine that very easily gets ramped up very quickly. That being said, yes he needs to get off the schnide. |

and ignorance aside, Thats why I am calling for Mcnabb to brought up. So we can do that. I don't have a lot of faith in Weber and Sulzer in big minute roles. McNabb has already proven he can do it. - Sabretooter
For the short term it looks like the most impactful guy from trade deadline isn't Gaustad, Hodgson, Kassian or Gragnani.... it's Sulzer. He's +3 in four games and looks as steady as they come. At a time when the Sabres are desperate for wins, the Sekera injury could have been a disaster. Instead, Sulzer has come in, held his own, and possibly even upgraded the defense. JMO |

by the way, i see that your discussion turned towards leino and not sekera.
i think Leino's shot is relatively bad because he uses such a short stick - theblueandgold
probably why he is in the NHL and not the NBA |

He really slows the game down when he has the puck and makes the smart play. The only time I've seen him make a bad play is when he mishandles a teammates pass to him.
Hes been playing smart hockey. They used him as an example for the heads up play on MSG against the Bruins. He got the puck, was skating up the boards where the benches are, got pressured, pulled a gretzky back into his defensive zone to get away from pressure then calmly sent it across the rink for a break up ice. its play like that ive been impressed by him. |

And nobody saw it coming.
Someone here said he will probably experience backup quarterback effect, where his play tapers off. Even if it does he's been a nice surprise. |

yea I can see that too once a team gets to watch a decent amount of film on him.
I like Sulzer's play.. but I would rather have McNabb up.
seriously? comparing Hodge to Scott "1 goal a year" Gomez...
Thats my franchise center man.... |

I know he will...
I think once he finds his groove and gets 1 or 2 points.. it will be a waterfall from there.
We aren't going no where near the playoffs without him producing points.

Mario Williams wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the NFL.
I heard he wants like 18M per year. |

Just think... if they had the same Shawn Merriman of 4 years ago (when he was taking roids).. and Mario Williams at opposite ends...
every QB would just be like... "F This!" |

I heard the talk with him is that STL wants him and thought that 2nd overall was too high so thats why they traded back to 6 with WSH. |
