See thats a moment where you want to use Farenheit. 14 warming up to 23 sounds so much better. |

Today during the Rangers-Isles game PA Parenteau got high sticked in the face, didn't bleed, yet it was still a double-minor.
Can someone explain that to me? I thought it was 2 for high-sticking, and 2 more if there's blood.
Also, the Islanders 3rd goal was offside, Nabakov attacked Prust at the end of the 2nd period (Rule 51 or something says that if a goalie punches a player with his blocker its a game misconduct), but the refs gave them coincidental minors.
This poop gets worse and worse every single game. They aren't even (frank)ing up on subjective calls anymore. They just don't know the rules.
Oh, and Stephane Auger and Ian Walsh are the worst officials.
EDIT: Really Ek, poop? Come on..... |

blood doesnt have to be present for a 4min high stick penalty, and also even if there is blood it doesnt mean it will be a 4min penalty (but pretty much it is 100% of the time, when called)
its if there is an injury or attempt to injure and it is the refs digression, but technically there doesnt need to be blood for 4mins
hopefully that helps

Exactly. In the end, just about every penalty is up to the referees discretion. He can call a slashing penalty if a player is swinging his stick dangerously, even if no contact is made. |

Im surprised more NHL players don't pretend to be hurt after being high-sticked than. PA Parenteau did it, helped his team get 2 extra PP minutes, and played the very next shift. |
