Bryz is being treated no different than any other #1 goalie that will be heading into the playoffs. Why does Bob need games for? He is the backup and should maybe see two-three starts the rest of the year. Winning the division is something this team should shoot for. Win your divison and get home ice advantage thats the goal. I much rather be playing home than at Pittsburgh in the first round. Bryz is not going to be overworked. He plays much better when he gets to carry the load imo.
- stveshdy

THe Flyers are actually a better road team so I would prefer not having home ice. They also do better in pitt than at home against. The goal isn't the division it's winning the cup.

Tim Thomas spanked for 3 so far.

Two deflections and one 5 hole goal he should have stopped.

@bruce_arthur: Since Tim Thomas skipped the White House visit the Bruins are 9-11-1, and his save percentage — which was .933 at the time — is .899.

Even if Bryz plays every game here on out he will still be on the low end of what he has been averaging the last few seasons. 55, 65, 69, 68 games played the last 4 years.

I agree that Bob should get a game here or there, especially in "3 in 4" or "4 in 6" scenarios. But Bryz should get the vast majority. Get him to 60 games.

- MBFlyerfan

I don't have a problem with Bryz playing 60 games but I don't see why he has to start on a b2b this weekend when you are going to do it next weekend.

Also he has started those averages over the past two years but he's also bottomed out in the playoffs the past two seasons. Now I think that is equally attributable to the team he played behind but even he admitted over the summer that fatigue played a role.

I would prefer the higher seed. And I would still prefer the home game. IMO it will be easier to win the cup if they win the division.

What was the deal with that? It's been a big deal but I don't know the details outside of he didn't go. What's up with this?

And my point is that he wont be fatigued because even if he plays every game, it will still be less than what he played in those seasons he was fatigued....by a lot.

I agree, as we have all seen, you need to give him a boat load of games for him to get into a groove.
- bigmookalookie

I don't think this streak of late is so much about the games he's played as it was the team playing better. The amount of games did serve getting his confidence back but now that he has it, I don't think a bunch of games is so paramount anymore. Give him 10 more starts to finish the season and rest him today. He's gonna play a back to back next weekend.

He said simply that he doesn't agree with what the federal government is doing (no explanation beyond that), and that he would make no further statements regarding.

I saw what you saw. I prefer to use the term spanked because it implies humilitation. Good goals or bad goals I don't care for Timmy even though he's a helluva goalie.

I know what the top goalies in the League are doing. I'm just concerned with the fact that goalies who hit the 60 game mark over the last two years have faltered in the playoffs. Luongo made it to game 7 of the SCF's but he was visibly out of gas in the last couple games. If the Flyers keep playing the way they are a cup is not out of reach.
- JoeRussomanno

I have played goalie for 9 years but the thing is that you really don't run out of gas. It isn't like you are skating up and down the ice full speed. I think it's best to just keep on riding Bryz

If you play him in all the remaining games that will be 64 games. It's not exactly a lot less games played. If you do that you do run the risk of over working him. I'm sorry but I just don't see how that is conducive to winning a cup.

There is still a pretty vocal part of the fan base that still is not in Bryz's corner. Half a season told them all they want to know apparently.
- MBFlyerfan

Yep. Haters, lovers, and wait and seers. I am in the wait and see you'll love him camp. And I'll admit I wasn't sure if it would be as this year wore on or starting next season. I just believed in what he's done so far in his career and in the expert opinions of Jags and Beezer that Bryz just needed time to adjust and get comfortable.

Have you played 60+ games in the NHL?

Edit: FWIW I hope I'm wrong about this but it's a gut feeling that he's going to be ridden too much here in a short amount of time and I do appreciate the input I hope you are right.

I guess the purposeful humiliation of Bryzgalov by so many Flyers fans using the same kinds of terms to describe basically the same circumstances is still too close to me at the moment.

My pocketbook would like them not to have home ice. But my fangirl heart still prefers 7th game potential to be at home. Playoffs are different than reg season.

Can anyone advise if Voracek should be back in the lineup on tuesday? Does he officially have a concussion or is it still precautionary?
- flyerdude17

It's a concussion. I can't understand why the Flyers are so reluctant to admit same.

You take a jarring hit to the face with an iron plated shoulder pad which renders you senseless (head hitting ice. arms straight up in the air, an obvious momentary loss of consciousness, unsteady on feet, etc...), you're concussed. To what degree, only the doctor and Homer know, I guess.
