I think so, but between the absolute absurdity of the medium (especially since the Death and Return of Superman) and a bad case of oversaturation, it's really hard to get into. It's a whole different level of nerd, one I can't begin to penetrate.

Not to say there aren't good comics out there. In this way, it's not so dissimilar to any other form of media I suppose.

Once again your taking things too literal. There is about a 0.5% (There is your percent for today Crims) chance that Weber will be a UFA after next season. If Nashville can't lock him into a multi-year deal, then they will need to trade so they can get a decent return and still remain competitive...

It has nothing to do with taking things too literal. It has to do with the fact that Weber holds the cards. Just because they trade Weber, doesn't mean he won't opt to test Free Agency. It's totally up to Weber. There is a very good chance that Weber reaches Free Agency.

Never understood it. As a kid I was constantly out playing sports never had time to read comics. Then again I was never into it.

Nashville will either lock him up to a multi year deal or trade him before the season starts... They will not sign him to a 1 year deal then wait until deadline to move him... They will get more in the offseason...

Different strokes for different folks. PLind doesn't like video games. BP87 & I do (along with Roenick97, Crims, and several others).

I had a paper route. Used my money to buy books and comic books, as well as the role-playing games my brother and our friends in the neighborhood all played. We played outside or went to the town pool during summer days and played RPG's at night. Reading was for rainy days, etc.

Side note: I love how RPG players have been called "antisocial" over the years. You have to play the game with other people - and talk to/with them.

Weber is a RFA after this season. For him to become a UFA after next season Nashville would have to just offer him a 1 year deal... Why would they do that? If they cant get him locked up this off-season to a multi year deal, then they will trade his right, and most likely to a team that knows he would sign with them... so they can get the MOST value for him. A team will not pay more for a pending UFA at the trade deadline as they will a RFA in the off-season before the draft...

Further more, if they have to trade Weber, then they will do everything in thier Power to keep Suter.... No way both are leaving Nashville.

Yes. And NPR actually has a guy who blogs about them on Monkey See (the pop culture blog on NPR), Mark Hirsch. I'm not into comics or graphic novels at all. But he's so interesting writing about them that I do read what he has to say. (This is more for those of you who do like comics and might be interested in reading his take. He's really passionate about the medium.)

We didn't mean literally everyone was bashing him. Why does everything have to be taken to an extreme here? Sometimes comments are made sarcastically and everyone understands and other times like with Bryz, it's taken so seriously.

We had 1 TV. Dad was its king. Video game time was rare. All we had was an Atari 2600 until late in the Super NES timeframe. So, video games were played at other kids' houses.

Still, most games were 1 or 2 player games. RPG's were limitless. We had 10 kids in a Dragonlance campaign.

Anyhoo, Mom and Dad bought the snacks. They liked that we were having fun with our friends and weren't out of eyesight of someone's parents because RPG's have to be played indoors.

As for comics, well... they often helped inspire creativity in our games. Same as today with my son reading Star Wars comics.

It's never too late to start reading (find a genre, any genre, that interests you--fiction or non) and just go for it. Start with really good young adult fiction if you need to ease into it. Harry Potter series, Hunger Games trilogy, The Book Thief (one of the best books I've ever read, and it was written for the YA market).

Worried about what people will think about what you're reading? Get a Nook or Kindle or download an app for your phone. You can read without anyone knowing or judging. And there's a LOT of classic writing out there available for free for those e-readers.

It won't make you smarter to read. But it will make you better informed. And you will be better able to understand and communicate with others. If most of what you know about the language is from what you hear, and not what you see, you'll be handicapped in written communication because so much gets lost in the transmission. Just an example--hear, here; where, wear, ware; there, their, they're; to, too, two--all sets of homophones with very different meanings.

It's gonna be interesting to see what Homer and the Flyers decide for defense in the off season. Forwards are pretty much set, but there will be some decisions to be made on the blueline.

I think they both do have a future.
MAB showed real hockey sense when he was first called up. Then he hit the wall a bit.
Gusty has skills and can skate. His size is an issue, but maybe he will pick up how to be a small but effective defenseman from Timonen over the next season.

I hope they are patient with them.
