And if he's traded it doesn't mean he will sign. He could be a playoff rental.
- funmaster18

Nashville will either lock him up to a multi year deal or trade him before the season starts... They will not sign him to a 1 year deal then wait until deadline to move him... They will get more in the offseason...

Gusty had moments of brilliance last night, I thought it was one of his best games so far. Used his stick to break up a certain scoring chance and the poke check to send. Wellwood on the way to the last goal stood out.

It's gonna be interesting to see what Homer and the Flyers decide for defense in the off season. Forwards are pretty much set, but there will be some decisions to be made on the blueline.

Still hoping Gusty and MAB have a future in O&B.

In the offseason he'd become a UFA after next year unless thy trade him between the end of the playoffs and July 1. I think you'd get a lot more for him at the deadline from a desperate team. The point is its not a forgone conclusion as you say that he won't make it to free agency. Nashville can trade him wherever they want but weber may elect to hit free agency still.

Hard earned and well deserved.

And a good contrast to last year's disastrous work them hard every day to get used to it before the playoffs. They were spent.

On the other hand, you've consistently had the same avatar here since 1988. So, that's a positive.

Weber is a RFA after this season. For him to become a UFA after next season Nashville would have to just offer him a 1 year deal... Why would they do that? If they cant get him locked up this off-season to a multi year deal, then they will trade his right, and most likely to a team that knows he would sign with them... so they can get the MOST value for him. A team will not pay more for a pending UFA at the trade deadline as they will a RFA in the off-season before the draft...

Further more, if they have to trade Weber, then they will do everything in thier Power to keep Suter.... No way both are leaving Nashville.

Listen to the fools on WIP changing their tune.

I agree I just want whoever we've got to play well. I had no control over who they sign so whoever is on the team, I would like to succeed.

- funmaster18

I'm not listening but I do have this to say about that.

A fanbase is not a monolith. Everyone doesn't believe one thing at the same time. Everyone wasn't bashing Bryz. Everyone wasn't willing to throw him away based on an inconsistent 1/2 season. Everyone didn't cheer when he was replaced in that game when both he and Bob blew up. Everyone didn't fake cheer him when he'd make a save after giving up a goal.

Everyone doesn't have to sit here and be criticized for being patient, understanding there was adjustment to be made and comfort to be found, and believing he'd turn it around.

Very deep. Fans are crazy. Thats the way to sum it all up. People get caught up in "what have you done for me lately".

And the people who call in when the team or a player is struggling are not usually the same people calling when the team is on a roll. The whiners call in for the former and the rooters for the latter. Whiners and rooters have a very small congruent subset.

Or they give him a 1 year qualifying offer for next season as MJL stated. Then they can trade him at the deadline like i said or in the offseason. Then what? Do you think Nashville can make them stay?

Even a trade doesn't guarantee he gets signed by that team.

No. You missed the point. There is not one set of people. There are people with varying viewpoints at all times. One guy is thinking one thing, while another is thinking the opposite. But the media acts as though there is only one guy and his stance is constantly switching back and forth.

Please trade Weber to Philly. I wouldnt mind it at all. The cost will be pricey but its worth it for a stud like Shea.

Even Tim P. acknowledged this in his last blog here, but he stills treats the fanbase as a monolith.

I get what your saying. If everyone thinks alike what would we disgust? People have different opinions (no one set of people). I gotcha.

We didn't mean literally everyone was bashing him. Why does everything have to be taken to an extreme here? Sometimes comments are made sarcastically and everyone understands and other times like with Bryz, it's taken so seriously.

Not sure if you meant the media or not and if so, then nevermind

The difficulty with both they and Darth Maul is that, like every comic book character since Return of Superman, they'll constantly come back/be brought back, (EDIT) for less and less logical reasons.

Do they still have comic books around? People actually buy them still? Just curious.
