Hard to call his contract a bust after one season, but I will not sit by and listen to anyone tell me he's been good this year. He looks HORRIBLE in most games. He's been good in a dozen or so games, but this year does not bode well for his contract.

So far tonight since losing to Boston I've heard from Sabres fans(In not so many words)

Lindy sucks
Darcy sucks
Trade Miller
Cody Hodgson is a bust
Myers will never be good
Erhoff is horrible
Roy sucks
Our team is too small
We werent good on this last road trip
Some reference to Briere/Drury leaving in 07'

I know full well if we won 2-1 in a shootout 95% of that wouldn't have been posted. Now wonder fans come here to troll the hell out of us, its so easy.

1-1 Vancouver and Winnipeg. Kassian got crunched as the puck came around the boards, and a Jets D-man pinched him hard, he gave up the puck, goal.

Thats what I'm saying. We just want crown a guy king so quikcly. Why because they will say good things about us on the NHL network tommorow? Or so we can justify that jersey we bought in haste.

eh em'

steve bernier has been pretty good for the devils since his call up, i mean not to the degree of what he was made out to be, and his stats wont show, but he has added depth to the devils and has helped the 3rd and now 4th line out

The score should probably be closer to 5-2. Pavelec and his crossbar have been great.

I think everyone left here becuase I wouldn't let everyone wallow in thier own self pity over this team. I said back in late December I was confident that there were 4 teams definitely not winning the Stanley cup this year. Columbus, Buffalo, Isles and Oilers. Buffalo has surprised by at least having a mathematical chance, but we know its a long shot.

Outside of not winning it all there is a lot to excited about as a Sabres fan. The worst is behind us. 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks this offseason. A filthy rich owner who will continue to make things better. A lot of guys with bright futures who are still young like Ennis, Myers, Hodgson, Tropp. Roy, Hecht, Stafford, Boyes contracts ending soon. A salary cap that will no doubt go up.

Not to mention playoff hockey soon. Playoffs are fun as hell weather we are in or not.

Wow I didn't even know that.

The reference was though we traded for him, he scored 2 goals the first night, this town went totally ape poop and then he scored 1 more in like 20 games and sucked.

he went for a tryout with the devils in the preseason, didnt make the team, tried to make a team elsewhere couldnt, signed an AHL contract with the devils and due to injuries the devils signed him to a 2 way contract a few weeks ago and he was put on a line with ponikarovski and zubrus and that line was one of our best lines on many nights with puck possession and creating chances, and poni has been a great addition too, and now that we are getting healthier he has been shifted down to the 4th line but is still getting mins elsewhere, he isnt getting the stats but he has helped out in other areas and is why he has stayed up, hard worker

picked 2 spots before parise too, so while he isnt contributing the way you would like a 1st rounder to, he is still doing a decent job

Hey as long as the price is right, what the hell right? Thats when teams become good. You have superstars up front doing their thing. Then the 3/4th lines fill in nicely.

Lindy hasn't ruined Hodgson yet... he's still (after 5 games) the only Sabre who will actually skate with the puck TOWARDS the net and try to score, rather than taking the puck to the outside and shooting at the goalie's chest, or missing the net "on purpose" or throwing the puck blindly through the crease at a 89 degree angle.

Am I the only one who finds this aspect of Lindy's "coaching" atrocious?

Kudos to those who try to crash the net and get a deflection on the 89 degree angle passes but wtf kind of strategy is this?

If the Sabres actually were told to skate hard to the net with the puck, they might a) score on a breakaway, b) draw a hooking/holding penalty, c) or at least get some sort of scoring chance.

Every game I watch via Centre Ice, which I will be cancelling tomorrow, and see the same old thing, every single time we have the puck entering the offensive zone. It HAS to be coaching, because most skill players have a natural drive to try to score. Lindy has them turning off to the sides and either giving the puck away, or setting up difficult to receive passes.

Add in the other "brilliant" coaching strategy of telling whoever has the puck once you cross the blue line that you must stop on a dime and dish the puck off. This results in a) 70% chance the play is offside, since the non-puck carriers are seemingly unaware after nearly a season of this "system" that the guy with the puck is going to stop on a dime at the blue line, or b) 20% chance of the defenseman, having watched and endless loop of Sabres tape and knowing full well what is going to happen before the Sabres' winger, steals the puck and launches a breakaway the other way, c) 10% the play actually works, and the guy who receives the puck either shoots at the goalie, has it bounce over his stick, or misses the net on purpose.

Lindy is the problem here, folks, not the players. I hate being so pedantic about the "system" but it is what it is, agree?

Kassian isn't playing a lot especially after the 1st Jets goal. Didn't watch the game much before that. Bust for the Canucks!!
